Remarks

I applied for GECA, MIT and DEOGIRI and i got selected in Deogiri in my CAP round. I was happy with doing my BE from DIEMS because my elder brother was an alumni of the institute and he had a wonderful experience in DIEMS! I did not avail any quota for admission as such! DIEMS usually prefer selecting students with above avg scores. My CET score was 73 and hence i was selected! One of my friends with 60 wasn't selected and had to continue from some other institute. The admission process was as usual, documents were verified, all the rules and regulations were explained, and there was a counselling session with the director of the institute!

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose CSE because I had ample interest in software development and designing them, secondly, I was very weak in Maths and you don't need to be extraordinary in maths if you opt for CSE as compared to MECHANICAL or CIVIL streams! Also, I predicted that there will be a good scope of cse stream in the future because of digitization. I had almost 60 students in my class, classes never used to be overcrowded. Even if the strength of the class was too many teachers use to easily handle them! Almost 4 teachers in my dept were Ph.D. and the rest were pursuing it! Few of the teachers were amazing with teaching skills and knowledge! But crucial subjects like AI and CG had underqualified faculty staff and here we students bore the losses! We used to have sem exams after every 6 months and mid sem after every 3 months. There were class tests every month and averages were included in the final sem exams! It wasn't much difficult for me to pass as I used to get my concepts clear in the class itself.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

Jaro offered an internship with a stipend of 18 k and students had to work as BDA for two months! Very few companies offered internships to be honest, most of the companies were interested in hiring students as employees.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students become eligible for placements from final year 1st sem some even got selected in 3rd year final sem! Companies like BYJUS, JARO, SANKEY, CODITAS etc visited. Hightes package was offered from JARO i.e 12 lpa and the profile was BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE. Lowest package was offered by Sankey of 2.5 lpa as a software engineer. 70 percent students were placed and 30% were placed in more than 1 company! I have my own startup as of now, i will continue with this for few more years and later i will join an MNC with this experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

My fees was 88,000/- yearly at the time of admission which was bit costly as compared to other institutions but thankfully I availed EBC scholarship and 50% of the amount was returned to me every year! Students selected by CAP were allowed to get the benefits of EBC scholarship and since i am a minority i also had a minority scholarship option through which i could get 25k . So i decided to go with the Ebc ! I was selected as an intern in JARO which is a edtech company in Mumbai and i got stipend of 18k per months. The internship period was 2 months. Later during my final year i got selected in BYJUS and JARO again with package of 10 and 12 LPA respectively!

Campus Life

3

Annual fest named as QUASARS was conducted in the month of FEBRUARY usually! It used to be conducted in the ground at a grand level! Sports and all other activities were also included . Prized were distributed as per academic and extracurricular performance! Tech fests were conducted in the month of September right before 2nd sem exams to brainstorm students and give them a recognition in the institute! I was not at all happy with my Library facility! We were provided with courses books only and that too werent available in ample! I could rarely get a book during my exam days because it never used to be available! Classrooms were quite spacious and had good ventilation, but we always had to switch classrooms if the lecture had to be conducted presentation because of unavailability of network connectivity! Again i had a very bad experience with sports in my institute! They never allowed us to use the ground even if we took permission!
