Remarks

I am persuing BCA from Post Graduate Government College for Girls Sector 11 Chandigarh. I do not have any quota for admission. The admission criteria for BCA is just you have a minimum of 60% and above marks in +2. There are three counseling. I get admission to first counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview

I want to become a front-end developer so I choose this course. I am a non-maths student from +2 and I was confused about either they got me admission or not but I am selected in first counseling. This college is on hashtag 1 priority so I took this college on first priority to get admission in. The teaching method is very nice. Theory and practicals are done side by side. Timings are from 9-2:30.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 44000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is semester wise you have to pay approx 22000 per semester including the exam fee and all you just have to give is 22000 and nothing else other than that. The only thing is no on-campus placement you have to go off-campus.

Campus Life

Annual function is very grateful. I enjoyed it very well. The library is cool I love the place the most on all campuses. You will find peace is just like heaven. All types of books you will see there. Classrooms are also neat and clean. Overall campus is good.

DAV College Chandigarh – Strong Academics, Good Location, and Engaging Campus Life

The BCA curriculum at DAV College follows Panjab University’s syllabus, which was one of the reasons I chose this course, as it covers core computer science subjects along with practical lab work. It provides a good foundation in programming, databases, and networking, preparing students for both higher studies like MCA/MBA and entry-level IT jobs. However, the syllabus is slightly outdated and could be improved by adding more industry-relevant topics like cloud computing, AI/ML, and modern web frameworks. Exams are conducted every semester, with internal assessments and practicals in between. The difficulty level is moderate, and regular preparation makes them manageable.

Placement Experience:

Placement cell of out college is quite good. Placemenr drive generally start at the beginning of 5th semsterbof every 3 year course. Companies like DELL, HDFC , ICICI BANK, ACCENTURE, DELLIOTE and many more came to provide employement. Highest package after UG is 10 lakhs offered by company to our college student.

Students can attend placement seminars in their last year of graduation. There are mostly placement offers for the role of sales and marketing or chat-call executives. IT companies do visit also but very rarely and they only hire only 5 to 10 candidates. There are sometimes unpaid internship opportunities available too.

DAV college : 'Not everyone's cup of Tea'

Course Curriculum Overview:

BCA in itself is not a very good course that will gurantee your placement in a good company with high package, Its relevance is high only beacuse its easy to complete and get the degree. For good packages you have to do MCA or work harder on your skill to get a good job. BCA helps in building base of your coding career, it offers a good grasp of C/CPP, Java and DataStructure.

Sggs is alright, if you dont expect much

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because i was interested in computers and didn't wanted to do arts, and i was underqualified for other streams. Every class has about 45 students, the number vary but not much. The faculty and teachers are helpful. There maybe some slacking by both sides here and there but its alright. The teaching mathod varies. If you know what youre doing the exams are not that hard to pass.

Excellent collage in chandigarh

Placement Experience:

Every year number of companies visit college to give student jobs. Well known companies visit in college like Google Amazon Tata Nike etc. In the last semester we are eligible for campus placement. The highest package was given by Amazon to one of the student of our college Was 2 crore per annum. The average package of our college was 20 lakh per annum.
