Entrance Preview
I took JEE Mains paper 2 for coming into this college. I got selected for the spot round counselling and got this college. I did not really hear much about this course prior to starting here. There were no interviews for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
The study is very much project oriented. We have to select a city or town every semester and study the area by conducting several surveys, collecting information from government officials and attend several lectures. Then we have to make analysis and arrive with proposals and conclusions for the city.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, when there are live projects in our college, they provide students from our college and other colleges with internships. The general stipend for students pursuing bachelors is Rs. 4000 a month. From what i heard from the students who have worked in the college, they mentioned that the experience was good and learned a lot from it.
Placement Experience
As of now, there has not been many placements or job opportunities created by the college. But they have promised to bring authorities to provide us with placement opportunities in the future. Last year, just 2 students got placed from our college and this year, the Training and Placement Cell said that they would bring as many as agencies as possible to the equation.
College Events
A number of events are celebrated and are organised the Student Council in the college. Some of it are, Starting with the Independence day, sports events, NOSPLAN, NASA, Synergy, Freshers and Farewell, essay competitions. etc. Year by year, depending on the student council, the number and grandeur of the events are increasing.
Fee Structure And Facilities
compared to other government institutions, the fees are expensive and compared to the private colleges the fees are okay. But the payment of fees is very problematic because we are asked pay the fees for each semester all at once or we cannot register for the particular semester. This is something that a lot of student have been complaining about.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship is offered to the SC/ST caste students and the economically challenged students but there is no loan facility offered by the college. Scholarship is also offered to the topper of the batch in the first year. After that there are no scholarships to the students.
Campus Life
The majority of the students are male. There are several workshops organised every semester and one student council is formed every year and the cultural activities like Republic day, Teachers day, Synergy .etc are organised by the committee. Most of the students are from Middle class and economically challenged background.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are alright but complaints are not taken very seriously and the rest is fine. The mess facilities are quite good for the fee we pay. It is sharing wise rooms and two students stay in a single room. The number of rooms to accommodate every student from the college and there is Wi fi facility to every student.
Exam Structure
We have a Mid term examination and one final examination for each semester. Depending on the year the student is studying, he/she will have different number of written examination or Viva or a presentation for different subjects. There are also marks for attendance and internal marks for assignments and participation in the classes.
Admission
First, there was an examination of MCQs and drawing in JEE mains paper 2. I got quite good marks and the results came out very late. Then I was supposed to attend a spot round counselling for selecting the college I want to study in. For registering I had to go to NIT Warangal and then got Bachelors in Planning in SPA Bhopal.
Faculty
Most of the faculty members are Assistant Professors and have good qualifications from reputed universities. Some are just for the sake of it. When it comes to teaching, the classes are not really interesting but the good part is we get to learn a lot of it on our own.
