Varun Moda's Review On Sarvajanik College Of Engineering And Technology - [SCET], Surat

I have given IIT JEE entrance examination and i scored 250 in it. And i have choosen this college because it was in my city and the best college of my city.

The course was fine according to my city and further scope because my city is well flourished in textile and in my course there was campus in my college and there was a project in my last year regarding the research. Textile field is very vast and there is very much to discover and to do research on different types of fabrics, yarns, machinaries etc.

No, there was no internship in my college and no stipend. Actually there is only a bachelor course in my college and so there was no internship.

The placement in college was average for my field but for some fields it was good like for information and technology. But over all it was average. When i was in my college for us there was only one company who visited for job recruitment and that giving very low pay scale.

There were many events taking place in our college. One technical events was kshitij in which there was exhibition of many models and presentations by students and outside professionals use to come to judge them. And then the annual function at the end of the year called as verve which we use to enjoy a lot for four days.

The fees structure was very expensive at that time but now it is almost doubled. It was very difficult for me to pay it because i belong middle class family. It was 40000 per year. It means 20000 per semester. And now is to high. And then we also have to pay the exam fees which was nominal. And there no other fees which we have to pay.

No there was no loan facility nor there was any scholarship given by the college. Moreover there was no rebate given to the poor students who were unable to pay the fees.

The campus life and atmosphere was very cool especially the canteen. The number of boys was more than the girls. Labs were good and big. Sports was also good they use to organise sports competitions amongs different colleges.robotics and debate competition was held in the kshitij which mentioned above.

The exam structure was very simple. There were only 2 exams in one year one for each semester. So it was not very hectic. Labs were very big for practicals but writing journals for lab was very hectic. And the viva exam for practicals was very deadly because we had to face the teachers orally.

I gave entrance examination and then i was called for the counselling to other city and then i was given options for the field according to my score and vacant seats. And then i have selected my field and my admission was confirmed and then i came to my city and paid the fees.

The faculty was very good almost for all subjects but there were one or two subject whose faculty was not good. It was as if they were there just to salary. But the others were very good in their subjects and showed interest in teaching us not only the syllabus but also the new discoveries.
