Mechanical Engineering, IIT- P

It wasn't decided by me that I will choose IIT Patna only, I applied for JOSAA and IIT Patna was my 3rd choice after IIT Madras and IIT Bombay. IIT Patna was among the top 26 BTech colleges in 2020 NIRF ranks and my JEE performance gave me the chance to study here. For admissions to the college, a valid score in JEE is needed while the most important factor is round of JOSAA counselling.

It was finalised by me that I will do my Engineering in Mechanical field and I applied for some well known IITs through JOSAA counselling (choice filling) and got the chance to pursue the course from IIT Patna. I haven't thought that I would get to learn in this quality and the experience of IIT Patna was overwhelming for me. We got to learn teachers having doctorate degrees and work experience in some of the leading companies or institutes.

It helped me in exploring different things about machineries which is the major need for anyone pursuing Engineering in Mechanical branch. The offer I got was good and especially for a person like me who wants to learn more it was perfect

IIT Patna had over 120 companies in its annual placements round of our batch The highest salary was INR 54.5 lpa which was grabbed by CSE maybe. Totally over 220 offers were made combiningly to all BTech branches and the average salary was INR 16.1 lpa . Famous visitors in the round were Tata consultancy, Deloitte, HCL Technologies,Goldman Sachs and Infosys.

I don't know about other branches but Mechanical Engineering students of IIT Patna had to pay INR 8.55 Lacs for their graduation here. This fee was for not for reserved students as they were provided concessions as per the guidelines of government. I don't know about the Study Loan facility because I never felt it's need.

We had some of the best IT related activities across the state at IIT Patna. I was from Mechanical branch but the campus life was equally good for us too. We got to have numerous industry oriented interactions, conclaves, quiz competitions, Cultural events and some famous sports also. For students help in terms of education the library of IIT Patna also played an important role along with the highly qualified faculty of the college.

I have been a day scholar throughout my BTech programme at IIT Patna But I know pretty well about the facilities, their expenses and quality too. The hostels were divided into 1:4 ratio for boys favour due to the gender diversity. The rooms were well managed having water and power supply without interruptions. As the college is a hub for a variety of Courses so the capacity of our hostel was also large.

As per my score in JEE entrance exam I was able to get a seat in Mechanical branch at IIT Patna. Along with the JEE score the seat availability, category of students and their merit rank is also an important thing. The whole procedure for admissions into IIT Patna or any similar type institute are based on the JOSAA counselling.
