Remarks
I had applied to 3 bschools and one of them was FORE School of Management. There was a cutoff percentile for the courses PGDM, PGDM (IB, BDA, FM). Cutoff for the course I applied was 85 and the eligibility criteria is a minimum undergraduate degree of minimum 3 years. The admission process was quite nicely handled. It involved 3 rounds: Personal Interview, General Business Quiz, Extempore round. All 3 rounds were held online in due of the ongoing pandemic. The counseling day was held online with all viewpoints of the senior faculty shared there and explaining the fore coming curriculum.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course I chose happens to be PGDM Core. Which provides an option to choose specialization ahead in the 3rd semester. The college has the advantage of dual specialization where you can specialize in 2 fields with both being major. Since the classes are being held online, uptill now the faculty has been extremely helpful except a few. The faculty is very knowledgeable but don't know how to depart. Generally, all the faculty are from IITs or IIMs with a Ph.D. degree. There is a complete portal for the faculty and guest faculty feedback which is compulsory to fill for the sake of attendance atleast. There are regular conduct of quiz before the each term like one before the midterm and the other before the end term. The subjects with 3 credits have 20 sessions and one with 1.5 credits have 10 sessions. Mid terms are held after 10 sessions like after a month and half of the commencement of the semester. The exam difficulty level is a bit moderate and the college follows a relative marking system.
Internships Opportunities
Since I'm in first semester right now. 3 companies have visited for the summer internship program namely GEP, Novartis and HSBC. Roles offered were of consultant, business planning and analysis, business banking respectively. Stipends offered by GEP - ?75000/ month, Novartis - ?40000/month and HSBC - ?50000/month. Project details were quite not disclosed.
Placement Experience
Since the college follows trimester system so the students are eligible from 4th semester to sit for placements. Some companies which visited for the 2019-21 batch were Asian paints, GEP, Novartis, HSBC, Amazon abd many more. There 136 recuriters in total last year. Highest package offered was 27 lpa in consulting and research area. Median package was 10.3 lpa. Profiles offered included in sales, analyst, consultant, banking services, management trainee, etc. As of now after getting the degree I ll go for a job only and after gaining experience of the corporate environment i would like to start my own venture.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total course fee is 15,98,000 which is divided into Four installments of Rs.3,99,000. There is not facility of fee waiver at the time of admissions but there are several scholarships given ahead in the course. Merit cum means scholarship in first and second year this is based on the financial need of the candidate dividing the category into 3 subcategories. 1st category with annual income less than or equal to 3 lakhs gets 100% tuition fee waiver. 2nd category with annual income between 3-5 lakhs gets a 50% tuition fee waiver and the last category with 5-8 lakhs gets a 25% tuition fee waiver.
Campus Life
The campus is not that big it's a very small campus. Since i have been there only once all thanks to the ongoing pandemic all the classes are being held online. But soon we'll be called back offline after being fully vaccinated. There is an annual fest named genisis held around in January- February. As i heard from seniors but haven't experienced yet that it's really amazing and fun. But lets see. The classrooms are well equipped but as i said the campus is not that big so are the classes. There facility of sports activities and there are around 25 committees which students can be a part of. And a separate Placement committee that doesn't come under student council. So yeah there are a lot of committees which can help develop your skills.
Interview Experience
The first and foremost is the application process then based on your CAT, XATpercentile the application is shortlisted for further rounds. There were 3 rounds this time which were general business quiz, extempore and then followed by a personal Interview. None of them were the elimination rounds. All they look is for communication skills and confidence. I vaguely remember some topics for the extempore like mine was "is print media slowly losing it's significance", general topics were given like "brexit" was all in news around the process so few got this as there topic. The quiz was all just general knowledge about happening in the government organizations nationally and internationally. To prepare for these rounds Telegram groups quite helped a lot. Then stay updated with your surroundings and recent big happenings.
