Entrance Preview
AIMS accepts scores of PGCET (Karnataka), MAT and CAT as well. PGCET ranking till 2000 will easily help in getting admission in AIMS. It's better if local residents of Karnataka apply through PGCET as it will help them in getting subsidised fee.
Course Curriculum Overview
AIMS Institutes is accredited to Bangalore University and hence follows the curriculum of the same. The curriculum is decent, but the university has a bad reputation for declaring the exam results late and keeps on introducing new systems every year.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internship opportunities to the students after the completion of the first year. Not all internships are paid only a few selected companies pay for internship and also now I hear that the college doesn't approve internship secured from outside by the students themselves.
College Events
The college lacks in extracurricular activities and has very few events conducted for students. Apart from annual sports events, the college doesn't have any other activities for postgraduate students. The college has certain clubs such as finance and marketing which mostly inactive. The environment of the college is disappointing most of the times.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for students admitted through PGCET is very feasible as the government provides subsidies which comes to around 2.5 lakhs which is payable every semester. The fees for students joined through other entrance exam is comes around 10 lakhs which I don't is worth it.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college does provide good loans and scholarship and also scholarship is provided from the PGCET counsel as well.
Hostel Facilities
I haven't stayed in the hostel so I can't say much, according to my friends the hostel facilities are very poor with no proper food. The hostel fees is around 60k per annum for a three sharing room which is not worth as it is an old building and also no proper hygiene maintained.
Alumni/Alumna
The college doesn't maintain any alumni network, I don't even remember interacting with my seniors. The college doesn't have any annual alumni meets and doesn't leverage them to get opportunities for the students.
Exam Structure
Exams are held on a semester basis and are quite easy. The college follows Bangalore University time table and enough time is given to prepare for each exam. The schedule is not hectic and students can a relax during all semesters.
Admission
I applied to the college through PGCET counselling. First appeared for the PGCET exam and got a ranking of around 500 and later during counselling I was given to select three colleges and based on the seats remaining in the college I was given the college seat.
Faculty
AIMS Institute has decent experienced faculties with industry exposure, but the one thing I noticed is that few of the lectures were biased towards certain students and gave more opportunities to them compared to others and also some of them were rude behaving inhumanly.
