My Life at SRU

Sunrise University is run by IET Group, which has a huge legacy in education. It is this history that has played a big factor in me choosing this university. The admissions were based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Students with a graduation degree in any discipline with marks above 40% can are eligible to apply. Another important factor was the infrastructure. Sunrise University has highly developed and modern facilities that benefits students. The university also has a high placement percentage, which attracted me to it.

The two year management course is divided into four semesters. The first year has 2 semesters with course on the basics of management. This includes papers on Principles and Practice of Management, Computer Fundamentals in first semester and Financial Management, Business Laws in the second year. And the second year focuses on specialization where the student can choose their own specialization subjects. The teaching methodologies include, regular classroom lectures, seminars, workshops, assignments, presentations and live training. The department also arranges industrial visits and study tours. Semester exams are conducted twice a year. There are internal tests conducted at timely intervals. These exam patterns help the students to stay in tune with the syllabus.

The placement rates at SRU are quite high. Many MNCs visit our campus for recruitment. Some popular companies are MRF Ltd, ADCC Infocad Ltd, Patym, Honda Motors among others. The highest package offered comes at around 4 lakhs. And the average package comes at around 1.5 lakhs. The institution has an active placement cell. And they take a conscious effort in connecting the students with recruiters. However most of these placements are for the engineering students. Management students are not given priority, and they might have to opt for off campus recruitments.

The tuition fee is 50,000 for a year. The hostel fee, exam fee and other infrastructural fees all comes under an additional fee. The tuition fee is very cheap when compared to other institution. However, for students who cannot afford this the university offers scholarships.

SRU has one of the most diverse and vibrant college communities. It also has well-furnished academic and administrative blocks and lecture halls. The computer lab and Library facilities are unparalleled. The institution also has a gym, medical center and a shopping arcade in its campus. Many cultural events, from Freshers day to annual festival are conducted every year. Over all I had a very happy and happening college life.

The University provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. All the hostels are well furnished and have high speed WI FI connections. They are also equipped with gyms. The mess food can be quite average, but is worth the money spent. Hostel Fees varies according to the facilities opted. However the minimum rent comes at around 50,000. There are also many PGs available near the campus; those might be available at better rates
