Remarks
I applied for MIET, Meerut, and availed admission through an entrance exam (UPTU.) The admission criteria included a student should have passed his/her 12th from a recognized board and should have maths as a compulsory subject. After, clearing the entrance exam we were asked to select a seat for ourselves in the counseling process. The admission process was easy we got the selected seat and we locked it by depositing the fee at the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The teachers at MIET are highly qualified and hold a minimum of master's degrees with a good amount of teaching experience. Teaching methods are good with both practical and theory classes. There were unit tests after every 2 months and for them to pass we had to study well and every 6 months we had the semester exams which again were pretty hard to pass if not studied well.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities were hardly any but teachers did recommend and helped in getting students to get the internship through their personal contacts. better internships would have created a better workforce.
Placement Experience
College did provide campus placement opportunities and from top MNC's to young startups, every student had the option for sitting in the company's interview if they qualify according to the company's requirements. The maximum average package was 8 LPA and the minimum was 1.8 LPA. Percentage of students getting placed in 99%.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee hike policy was not there as it was constant for the whole 4 years of the course and the cost to study was fine. There we had the option to avail or apply for UP government higher studies scholarship. People who got their admission through the admission quota had no option to apply for any financial assistance or scholarships. I got the job on campus and the stipend was around 1.8 CTC.
Campus Life
At, MIET we had the annual cultural fest Kolaahal which had fun activities planned for everyone from poetry to dancing. The tech fest that we had was TechSpradha conducted and managed by both the teachers and students. The library had ample books and journals for everyone and we had easy access. Classrooms have all the basic amenities. There were various sports and the college has its cricket and basketball teams.
