Review- [NIT], South Sikkim

Admission is based on jee main rank home state quota Rank is very high you can easily get this college in a home state if your rank is below 2 lakh for other state students I think more than 93 percentile is necessary. The admission process is done by jossa counseling and you have to go to college for verification.

Strength is very low in nit Sikkim in my 2019 batch the total strength was just 120 so the student-teacher ratio is very good compare to other colleges faculty I would say are average CSE faculty are good in exams there was 2 midterm and 1 end term per semester and difficulty is dependent on teachers.

I have applied for some internships in the 2nd year but have not been selected if you have good knowledge of web development then you can be selected for an internship mostly internships are not paid few companies give you a stipend of around 10000.

Placement is good for CSE branch only with average placement is around 6 lakh for CSE other branches mechanical and civil have a very low placement you can start applying from 4th year for placement and for an internship you can apply from 2nd year highest placement is around 15 lakhs percentage I would say 90 for CSE and 50 for other branch but it will increase when the permanent campus is made.

St sc and below 1 lakh income are exempted from institute fees it is as same as other nit colleges you can avail any scholarship you are eligible you can also take a loan from nearest SBI bank but they give it in 8 percent loan rate fees hike is very less compare to another NIT.

Campus life I would say is the best part it's best you can watch nature at its best from your room Sikkim is the best place to travel in holidays sports facilities are low because in hills area what you can expect but if permanent campus would make you can see increased it a library is poor there are a limited supply of books students have to share books there are some clubs you can join.

1st-year boys hostel are outside campus otherwise all other hostels are on campus there will be at least 4 people in one room so it's very congested faculty are provided separate 2 rooms but they don't care about students but you will love it after some time because it's good after some time because you not feel bored with friends you can also take some private pg if you want which are near the campus Mess food is very poor and they supply limited things in a mess and if you are a vegetarian then it's worse because they make chapati either you have to eat rice or eat outside in morning they provide good breakfast but just little but tea is like only water no milk mess is my worst experience in this college.
