It's a nice college- [PPL], Lucknow

After completing my 12th I thought of my higher study and applied to Prasad Polytechnic for doing diploma in Mechanical (Automobile) Engineering. My friend was also doing this course from the same college so, I also decided to choose this course. I belong to the OBC category and I am eligible for reservation benefits but, I took admission directly and therefore did not availed it. Reservation can be availed by the students taking admission through the JEECUP entrance exam. There is separate counseling held for the students taking admission through their JEECUP ranks or marks obtained in the entrance exam. The only requirement for the admission in diploma in my college is that student should have passed 10th with Maths as a subject or have done ITI.

My course of Diploma in Mechanical (Automobile) Engineering is a very good branch and there is a good scope for jobs in India. Our college has about 100 faculty members and every branch has more than 100 students for every session. Our teachers or faculty members are very good at teaching but some of them are average only. They all have done B. Tech, M.Tech, and some of them Ph.D. also. Our semester exams are held twice a year and they are taken mostly on time except for when there are some big problems like the covid pandemic. Our teachers' experience and their useful tips help us a lot in preparing and passing the exams.

Our study is important but the most important thing is the placement, which makes your career better. Our college has campus placement and many companies visit and hire our students. In many branches, not all the students get the placement but the students who are toppers and who are good in their study get the placement. I also dream to get a placement so that I can get a job quickly after my diploma. For that, I am really working hard and improving my skills, knowledge, and my scores. Tata Motors, Layam Group, Myntra, Bajaj, and other companies come to our college for the placement. In the final year of our course, this opportunity comes to us and we are very much awaited for that.

The college fee is 38000 as decided by the board for private institutes. There are some other charges also which are added later as late fine, penalty, or low attendance fine. The rounded figure is about 40,000 per year. We have the scholarship support by the government, with the help of which more than half of our fees are recovered. I belong to the OBC category and I get a scholarship of 22,000 every year.

With our study, we have to do some enjoyment also and for this, we have got many events and functions organized in the college. Some events are like Ullas Annual Games and Ullas Annual Function. These events are not organized every year but after a few years gap. But, many celebrations are there in our college on special occasions every year such as Freshers' Party, Farewell Party, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, World Environment Day, Teachers Day, Children's day and many more. Our college has a nice library with all the important books there. Classrooms are also good enough for teaching and learning. Almost every important games and sports facilities are available in our college. We do have a playground for playing cricket and other outdoor sports.
