Entrance Preview

One needs to clear the SRMEEE entrance exam. For admission into ECE at the main campus, which is a highly coveted course, the examinee should be ranked under 1500.

Course Curriculum Overview

The department of ECE (as well as all other departments) have great infrastructure. We have state of the art labs and great equipments. The labs are open to all students and research is motivated by teachers.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, a whole lot of internship opportunities are provided by college with a good stipend, but it usually depends on the company. It may vary from 5,000 to 20,000.

Placement Experience

More than 200 companies came to SRM University for placements with almost 4000 kids getting placed. I myself was placed in three companies, Wipro, Cognizant and Infosys with a package of around 3.6 LPA for the training period. The highest pay package was 35 LPA in 2014 and a lot of kids were placed for a package of over 10 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides outstanding students with scholarships of upto 100% of hostel as well as tuition fees. One can also avail loans form HDFC Credila or other organisations. The unoversity provides funding for extraordinary underprivileged students every year.

After 6 semester the students are eligible for all the core and it placements. For us the core companies are Capgemini tech pub(32), sopra steria(5) and boeing . The highest package is 8lpa and average is 5 lpa Out of 100 55 students are getting placed each year. I got placement in Capgemini and I am working on Capgemini.

Is VIT worth it

Placement Experience:

Placements in VIT UNIVERSITY is very good the average package is 8 lakhs and the Highest may go upto 1 crore every year.There is a separate placement cell in VIT chennai and they give you placement training from start of the third year. Many multinational companies like google, microsoft etc comes to VIT to pick students for their company. Almost 98 percent of the students gets places in VIT. After my degree I choose to sit for placements.

I applied at PDEU, Gandhinagar and SRMIST and both colleges admissions were almost done but since my family is from Chennai, we al decided to stay close to home atleast for UG.
