Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE entrance exam and got this college. My first priority was Computer Science in Btech, so I opted for this course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My Course was defined by Punjab Technical University. Head of Department for Computer Science and Engineering was Prof. R. S. Salaria. He is an alumnus if IIT Delhi and had guided us in each and every aspects whenever needed.

Internships Opportunities

No, My college didn't provide any internship till 2014. I am not aware of current situation. Current students or faculty may answer this question well.

Placement Experience

4

Placement and Job opportunities is good here as TPC members with Student Coordinators try hard for Campus Placements. The highest figure was 10 Lakh offered and the lowest was 3.5 Lakh offered in my era. A good number of students were placed. Currently Amazon had selected few students in campus placement last year.

College Events

4

Technical Festival celebrated once when i was in college. Cultural Festival celebrated annually which of 1-2 days event, Freshers party celebrated annually, Sports tournaments held annually which is of multiple days activity. Convocation celebrated annually which is of 1 day event.

Fees and Financial Aid

Regarding scholarship facility, I dun have much idea about it. Though they have few fees waiver schemes which can be opted for special conditions.

Exam Structure

Well exam structure is hectic for everyone and it depends how you take it. For me it was always less stressful as curriculum of here will make you to study and do good in exams. Labs are good here and the lab assistants are very supportive here. I think research part should be the area of focus here.

Admission

In 2010 after passing out senior school, I applied for this college via online Punjab Technical University website where they had seats for AIEEE entrance exam students also. The admission procedure was very simple. I had opted the course and then got selected and then went to college for document and fee submission. Every staff member is so supportive there.

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.
