Life at IIM L

The pgp office is very strict when it comes to rules and regulations. They don't alter the rules under any circumstances.

I took CAT last year. Scored 99.24% and got calls from all IIMs except IIM A. IIM Lucknow was the best college from which I received an admit.

The course curriculum is quite comprehensive. First year courses at the college expose you to the basics of all disciplines so that you gain basic knowledge required. In the second year, you have an option to choose from a variety of electives which lets you choose a mix of courses based on your interests

Yes, IIM Lucknow does provide internships to the entire batch. Usually the batch gets placed within 4-5 days and the average stipend is roughly between 50,000-60,000 per month.

Placements, similar to internships, happen over a span of 4-5 days during which the entire batch of 450-500 students gets placed. A variety of companies across all domains, namely, consulting, marketing, finance, operations, e-commerce, etc. visit the campus for placements.

A host of events are celebrated at IIM Lucknow. Manfest-Varchsava being the largest among them, gives the students an opportunity to witness and be a part of management, cultural and sports events all at the same time. Index, a marketing fest, is another such event celebrated at the college, though at a relatively smaller scale.

The fee structure of the college is lower when compared to other IIMs. However, it charges a student 14-15 lacs for the two year of the curriculum. The facilties at the college are good. However, the hostel facilities are not up to the mark for the amount paid.

I haven't availed any scholarships as such. However, I am aware that scholarships are available for SC and ST students.

Campus life at IIM Lucknow is great. The gender ratio (number of girls to the number of boys) should be around 30%. There are a large number of committees and clubs on campus which keep on organising a variety of competitions, workshops and other events.

The hostel rooms are single occupancy rooms. Security and common rooms at the hostels are good but the infrastructure is not up to the mark when you compare it to the amount paid. The washrooms are good. The mess food is decent and is quite subsidized.

IIM Lucknow provides a very helpful alumni network to all its students. The seniors are always willing to help and mentor the juniors across all activities.

Yes, the examination structure is a little hectic with on an average 2-3 quizzes scheduled every week. The term is around 3 month long with a mid term examination at the end of 1.5 months and an end term examination at the term end. However, exams are usually application based and thus only require you to be attentive during the lectures.

The faculty is always highly motivated to help us make the best out of the course that we have enrolled for. They usually make sure that the lectures are a mix of both, theory and practical knowledge. Hence, the focus is always on imparting education through real life cases and projects
