Remarks

- I had applied for Welingkar, SIES, NL Dalmia and IBS. There was no such quota that I had applied for and IBS declared the results very early as compared to other colleges. So I had to go to IBS and it had IT along with other subjects like Finance and Marketing which was not present in other colleges. - The minimum criteria for the marks was 85%ile+ and no age barrier as such. And the process for me was a bit different as lockdown had already started and I went through PI over the video call. Other colleagues of mine went to IBS Hyderabad where GDPI took place and based on merit admission was given. They have an in-house exam IBSAT which you can give otherwise they accept CAT, MAT, CMAT scores too.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is nice and updated as per the recent scenarios going on. Case studies are updated and dealt with accordingly. I chose PGPM Finance plus IT which is a major in Finance and minor in IT. This is a kind of dual specialization which one can opt for and is a nice option. One gets to learn multiple things at a time and must be willing to do so. Qualifications of the faculties are high and some of them are good quality teachers out there. In fact, the visiting faculties are also good when it comes to Legal subjects and Marketing subjects. Exams were on time and their marking scheme is a bit different which one might not like. Overall I would say there are few good teachers but the majority you will be like just deal with it.

Internships Opportunities

4

There were a lot of companies that came for internships like JP Morgan, Deloitte, Reliance Jio, Tech Leap, Phillip Capital, Aditya Birla Insurance, FGLI etc and other digital marketing companies too. Wealth management companies too came for the placements. College does provide internship assistance and gets companies. You have to sit for the company which you feel you can go for and get a career ahead.

Placement Experience

3

The students become eligible in the 2nd year, during the start only and it depends on the specializations they are opting for. A good amount of 97% of students was placed in our senior batch. Big companies do come like JP Morgan, Deloitte, BlackRock, Reliance Jio, HDFC Banks and roles offered are Relationship manager, sales, business analyst, tax consultant etc. Majority sales profiles /digital marketing and few core finance. The college has started focusing on Analytics for which there might be companies coming in for analysts roles as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is less compared to other colleges like Welingkar, SIES, NLDalmia etc. The fees are increased every year. And there's a seat confirmation fee that you have to pay which you can get the refund within the deadline date mentioned if you get into any other better college out there. The college provides merit scholarships for the semesters. They also provide financial assistance in terms of loans or any other queries. Campus Jobs seem to be okayish. Currently, I am in 2nd year and looking for placements. The college does bring in a good amount of companies for SIP but the majority of them are for sales/marketing/digital marketing.

Campus Life

2

There are a lot of clubs at IBS Mumbai and you won't be idle during the tenure. Our batch 20-22 is the unluckiest I feel as we haven't been to college yet and everything is online. No campus exposure. However, it's a rented building and the campus is in Powai which is a posh area and there are sports clubs too which one can opt for. There is a website for marketing students M360 that is run by students.

Interview Experience

3.5

Since it was lockdown when I opted for this college admission my interview was taken over a video call. However, there are GDPI rounds at IBS Hyderabad where you get to choose which campus you want. You need to clear the IBSAT exam but there are scores of other exams too that are accepted like CAT, CMAT, CET and others.

Other Applied Colleges

SIES College of Management | PGDM

They were having core Marketing or Finance and in IBS I got IT too along with Finance

Placement Experience:

The placements depend upon which Specialization you're in. If you're a marketing student there will be lots of good companies coming in for placements followed by finance and then HR. You become eligible for placement from 3rd semester. Companies such as Deloitte, PWC, TCS, HCL, etc. visit the campus for placements and offer a good amount of Packages.

We learned a lot from the curriculum and the college itself. My journey was a mixed bag of feelings with many sweet and sour moments. The classroom sessions were fun and so were the field visits and management activities like webinars or mock marketing competitions.

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.
