RPET (2010), score 57/120, I opted for this college after one of my aquaintance suggested me to fill Poornima College in the counselling. It was mistaken. I was not well aware of the colleges after my 12th exams and got mis-guided by some people and filled this college and it was allotted to me in the first round itself.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of RTU (Rajasthan Technical University) is good, but is not updated. The curriculum should be updated and focused on latest patterns and curriculum. But the curriculum of RTU was not at all updated or modified. It's less focused on research as compared to other universities. Also the training period was less in RTU as compared to other universities.
Internships Opportunities
The internship was a part of the curriculum (as per RTU) A 6-week training/internship was to be completed by the student on his own, the college didn't provide any help or support in that. I did my internship from BEL, Ghaziabad on my own. There was no interference or reference from the college in that and BEL did not provide any stipend for the internship (as it was only a 6 week internship).
College Events
The events and cultural management in the college was very less. There was only one cultural fest in the college, and it was 1 week long. Rest the whole year no cultural event. The 1-week long fest "AAROHAN" was a nice event, it was being organised at a large scale and there was a lot of participation too.
Fees and Financial Aid
The only scholarship I know was an yearly scholarship award of Rs. 500 for the students having 100% attendance and Rs. 500 scholarship for the one having highest marks in the campus in that particular batch of all the branches together.
Campus Life
Campus life was fine. Gender ratio was average. There was a good gender ratio. Extracurricular were very less. There were no such competitions held in college itself but one can participate in the other colleges events if they are open. There were very few events held in the college.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students were helpful. Although it was not allowed by the college to interact much with the juniors or seniors but they were helpful and nice in nature too.
Exam Structure
The exams and labs were very frequent and leaving with a hectic day. Labs were fine. It was hectic to be there, as there were used to be many useless time wasting activities and one has to attend them. The labs were adequately equipped with the instruments, although there was shortage always but later it was fine.
Faculty
The faculty of the college was totally non-professional, not well qualified, not trained properly. The students passing from the college gets placed as the faculty there. That was the worst thing, as those who didn't get placed anywhere, were placed in the college itself as the faculty with a very low pay-scale. The teachers were not at all experienced and not well qualified for the subjects.
