A College Strictly for studies

I took all the major tests. Got selected in many of them. Joined here because the fee was less and the placement record was impeccable for this particular campus. Also, in this college, studies are the major centre of attention and not leisure activities.

The course curriculum for 1st year has nothing to do with the branch of engineering you chose. You have to study basic subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, etc in the first year whether you like it or not. The Regular tests provide a studious atmosphere though.

I have no idea about the internship or the summer placements yet. The seniors say that the internships are above average though.

I have not attended placements yet but the college is very keen on preparing students for that. There are placement classes from the 1st year itself to groom your soft skills and aptitude. Almost all the mass recruiting companies visit the placements and for the record, SRM ramapuam campus has 100% placement record.

Each department organises its own event every year. The events consists of various outdoor, indoor activities. Football, cricket, coding, hacking, PC Gaming, etc are some of the activities that happen during the events. The events are basically organised by the seniors only.

I have no idea about any scholarship that is offered in our campus. Neither have i heard about it from anyone. Loans would be provided to you on the day of counselling itself, so you don't need to worry about it.

The campus life is bad. There is no ground for walking or playing any outdoor sports. Students are here from almost all parts of India, so cultural diversity is good and you get to assimilate many aspects of other cultures. The girls : boys ratio is below average though.

You have one Cycle Test every month. A total of 3 cycle tests, 1 model practical, then University Practicals and then University semester exams. To sum it up, you won't have time for anything else than studying. Also, the marking in these tests is purely based on how many pages you fill rather than the content.

I got admission through the Counseling. You need to fill the SRMJEE form online and take the test. Once the results are announced, you need to check your counselling date . Be present on the assigned counselling dates and select the branch of your choice.

The college faculties are very strict to say the least. But strictness is required to maintain the decorum as the number of students is very huge. The teachers are well versed in their subjects and have a good command of the subjects. Language can be a barrier between the students and teachers sometimes.
