A college with freedom and opportunities for self learning

The college is good for self learning capability students. The students are given full freedom and if you use it wisely you would shine for sure. But if you want to enjoy luxurious college life, this is not the college for you.

I didn't took any entrane examinations but i got cutoff mark 197 in the Engineering counselling which took me there.

The course curriculum is average. It would be nice if the students is ready for self learning. Students will have many time over their schedule for self learning. The curriculum is usually the one followed by the anna univerrsity. Overall curriculum has to be altered based on the current trend.

Yes, the college allows internships. Internships are usually allowed for a period of 3 to 6 months based the company that requests. But for those who have undertaken the internship should take care their studies during that process. The companies that came for our college that offered internships include Zoho, Gofrugal, etc. The stipend may vary from 10 to 15 thousand per month.

The symposiums are the technical events that happen once in a year for every departement. Most of the departements also have inter department symposium also. The culturals happens once in a year. other events include sports day, Muthamil mandram fucntion etc.

The fee structure is so feasible that the students are not spending too much money. The whole fee is below 10k for a year which means you can complete your course with just 40k. This includes only tuttion fee hostel fee is separate.But they are also not much expensive. If you ask this is one of the cheap fee structure college.

Most of the students get scholarship and if you ask most of the students do their course with scholarship because the scholarship may vary from 10k to 50k per person and this is enough for a person to complete his yearly studies.

The male ratio is less for the college than female ratio. The ratio is 3:5 for male:female. Only mechanical department contains more males. othe have females ratio higher. There is a sports ground available for practice, every department has good labs. robotics knowledge development center is also available. The seniors give coaching based on the merit for the palcement (softskill training)

The hostel facilities are not that good. The rooms are based on sharing. You may share your room with 2 to 5 members.The hostel food is edible but not that much luxurious. This is one of the drawbacks. If you want luxurious hostel. This is not your college. The mess fees may vary from 1500 to 2500 per month.

The alumni network is one of the main strength of this college. The alumni get together happens every year and each year they do something to the college that brings is adds quality to the college. Thiran is one of such movements.

The labs are usually chilling out as they were easily handled b students. Only the written exams are somewhat a headache type because all the exams will be over within two weeks. This is in contradiction with Anna university where the students will get a lot of days as study holidays

The college takes admission only through anna university counselling. There are special quota seats available. But they are limited to 2 to 3 per department. After getting the seat from counselling, the student must visit the college on date for their admission process.

Half the staffs have done doctorate. But still the temporary staffs have may have done either B.E or M.E (mostly B.E staffs are there). The subjects that are taught by senior staffs will be more concrete. Those which are taught by the temporary staffs are theory subjects which can be easily understood by the students. So no worry.
