Remarks

I applied for Mmk, also opted for hai hind college but eventually took admission in mmk college of commerce and economics since most of my seniors and pass out are from mmk and I've got good positive responses about mmk. Also since it's convenient to travel from my residence. No quota was availed by me. The minimum mark required was 70% in 12th grade and I had secured it. The admission process went very smoothly. It was handled well by the teaching and the supporting staff a prospectus and detailed knowledge about each course was given to us so that we could avoid confusion.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose BMS which is a bachelor in management studies since in the first year it had provided the subject of marketing as well as finance and HR and being confused about the specialisation BMS provided me knowledge about all these subjects and help me choose my major in the second year. For everything subject, there was a different teacher and there were 60 students in one class hence the faculty to student ratio becomes 1:2. All the teachers were well educated in their respected fields and industrial experience as well. There was one external one internal exam in every semester and there were six semesters in total. The exams were moderately difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Name of the company- Motilal Oswal, intern theory, red FM, affinity and other startups. These offer us the role position of interns which were unpaid and paid as well. Our final year project was allotted to every student which was supposed to be based on either past internships or an industry related topic and these were under the guidance of our college professors.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students become eligible for placement from the second year. Apart from that, we have received many job and internships offers and every individual was given the chance to go for the interview. Name of the company- Motilal Oswal, red FM, affinity, intern theory and various startups as well. The hugest annual package was offered 4 lakhs per annum and the average was 3 lakhs. Around 10 to 20% of students secured the placements. My plan after getting the degree is to start up my own business.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees were 19,000 per annum which included the library and extra curriculum activities. The fees remain the same in online lectures as well. The toppers of each semester were provided with a scholarship of up to 1,000 along with certain Jon placement and job interviews which were offered to every student as well.

Campus Life

4

In 2019 we had an annual fest named lakshya which took place in January. 2020 we had our annual fest named enthusia which also took place in January. The library was well equipped with hundreds of books and e-books as well. We had well maintained classrooms with projectors, blackboards, air conditioners and comfortable benches as well. We had cricket, football and basketball teams for mmk college. Apart from that, every individual was allowed to take part in various competitions which were offered via annual fest. Apart from sports, we had cultural and literal based events as well. Lastly, we had a finance and economic club for which we had the opportunity to become part of the managing committee or participant/ member as well.

Placement Experience:

Placement cell is quite good. Students are eligible for placement in their last semester of course. There are many great companies that come like JP MORGAN, EY, KPMG. Average package of the college is 5-6 lacs but there are high packages according to the skills of the student. I'd like to go for master's after BMS. Different kind of roles are there for students to apply according to their interests in all the fields like finance, marketing, HR, consulting. There is training provided by the college for placemens and there is personal training for individual company interviews if required by students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Honestly, the course alone can't prepare you for real world applications. It's important to learn some skills before getting into job market. The course is pretty theory based and doesn't have a practical approach. The only skill thing that college helps with is public speaking through presentations. The teaching methods are also very much traditional type. So it's better to learn some extra skills and get experience, that can help you get your ideal job.
