2007 HSC passed outs are more lucky. We were the first to get into Engineering colleges without any entrance examinations and based on aggregate of Maths, Physics, Chemistry subject marks scored.
Course Curriculum Overview
As my college is affiliated to Anna University, entire course structure is as per University syllabus.We can opt for electives not as individual but as a whole class. Though University gave you choice of choosing, you can win your choice only if entire class choose the same.
Internships Opportunities
No internship provided. Final project you can do as intern on your interest if you get any. College get you to Industrial visit to all Jeppiar Industries like Jeppiar milk, Jeppiar steel, Jeppiar cement etc. inspite whether the industry is relevant to your course or not.
Placement Experience
Here college stand high. This college provides more campus placement and job opportunities than other similar standard colleges. In my year (2011 passed out) we had 3 IT companies on campus (only for our college), 5- 7 Jeppiar group campus connect and 3 Anna university placements opportunities provided. This only IT company placements count and not included core companies.
College Events
Only event which we invite other colleges is Symposium's. Other events are only intra-college. There will be annual cultural events among departments. Sports events happen annually though there was not good grounds or proper practice. Other than this there will be bus day celebrations, hostel day and women's day celebrations among Jeppiar Colleges.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is not much high or low. Its fine comparatively. I was paying 80 thousand including hostel for first year and 60 thousand in next consecutive years. There was not any bigger additional fees other than this. For first year alone they will provide course material (no extra fees).
Fees and Financial Aid
There was no such I heard of. All paid same course fees and no scholarship was provided by college or management.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is more like a second home. They provided good food and rooms. They itself clean rooms periodically. You dont need to wash your clothes even, they will laundry and Iron your clothes thrice a week.
Exam Structure
College conducts exams periodically other than semester and post the results and mark scored to your home address. They also conduct parent faculty meet for few. First impression of the college I could say A computer Lab. with good infrastructure and ambiance.
Admission
I applied for Anna University counselling for Engineering colleges. I heard little about SRR Engineering college through my brother and friends as one of the Jeppiar Institute before appear for counselling. It was my parents choice first then mine since Jeppiar colleges well known for disciplines, secured and good Food.
Faculty
As per Anna University norms only Master degree professionals were appointed as lecturers. And they too had some disciplines to follow in my college (Dress codes and timings. I cant say all lecturers taken were good enough, only few had very sound subject knowledge.
