Remarks
The college infrastructure was well maintained. More green trees and shadows, and the red building was very impressive construction and design. It was very fun to walk in the shadows of the trees. Many people used to come for jogging and walking. Still so
Entrance Preview
TNPCEE - Scored 87.9 in the entrance examination and HSC marks are required for the cut-off. Got the Seat in this reputed college using counselling based on the aggregated cut-off (TNPCEE + HSC). It was one of the top reputed colleges in the south india after IITs. Students from Andhra and Tamil Nadu study hard to get admission in this college irrespective of the courses. I choosed Information Technology as my interest was in the computer from my school days. I planned to take either computer science or information technology in the top colleges. Since IT was only there, based on my cutoff, I opted for IT.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was an interesting courses and useful information. I have learnt data structures in college which is most important for any programmer or designer. Also the introduction to linux, DBMS, digital systems everything helped a lot in my career growth. It was a good exposure to C/C++ programming in the college as we have more courses in the programming language related.
Internships Opportunities
I did not attend any internship in my college. We got selected via campus in the final year starting itself and did my final year project within college itself. I did my final year project in "Voice recognition or Speaker Identification software" under the guidance of TV geetha mam, who was the HOD that time. We did in Matlab (a team of 3 people), and it was an unforgettable experience. We recorded many voices to collect multiple samples for getting best matching results and also did noise reduction to remove unwanted noise. We got around 97% accuracy in identifying the speaker based on the voice match. Thanks to Geetha mam and her juniors Saraswathi mam and Saravanan sir for providing guidance.
Placement Experience
We got an excellent placement cell and many companies used to come every year. In 2005, during our final year, CTS came first and recruited around 1000 students in the first day itself. Then on the consecutive day, TCS came and selected 72 students, later followed by infosys and wipro, both around 100 to 200 people. I got selected in Wipro and it was a nice interview experience for me after CTS and TCS. Many companies followed after wipro, HCL, birla soft, HP, Sasken, iGate etc. Almost all the students (99%) in my class got placed in on-campus and remaining got selected in off-campus. Many dream companies like CISCO, Microsoft, google, yahoo, amazon etc. also came later and offered dream package of 12Lakhs per annum in 2005 itself. Few of my classmates got selected in big companies.
College Events
Techofes - cultural event very famous in chennai. Many colleges come and participate in solo dance, group dance, singing, skit, etc. It was a very fun filled environment. Many celebrities used to come and host the shows, review and give prizes to the winners.Prodigy - quiz or game shows for school students conducted by computer science dept. I was one of the key organizer in this event. We gave certificates to the winning team and participation members.Abacus - progamming event conducted by computer science dept. This involves programming contest and problem solving questions for college students.Kurukshetra - Projects for college students irrespective of departments. This also very famous which started once I passed out.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was very economical and best fee structure. It just cost me 65000 Rs for the entire 4 years (excluding hostel, books, mess, exam fees). For even semester, course fee is around 6500 Rs and odd semesters, around 6800 rs. Nowhere we get this much minimal fees with good reputed lectures and campus. Exam fees costs 100 Rs per subject (mostly 700 to 800 Rs per semester). As I was a day-scholar, no information about hostels and mess cost.
Fees and Financial Aid
educational loans are available during that time itself, provided by IOB and other nationalised banks. We used to get concession tickets for train and bus tickets and it was very good use for day scholars commuting.
Campus Life
It was a life time memorable experience during my life in campus. Very good sports ground, we used to play cricket daily even in the hot sunny day or rainy day. We used to gather at hostel rooms and play carrom daily. Sports was best in the college which gave many good cricketers to Indian team, eg. K Srikanth which I remember. Gender ratio was 100% in our class, 28 males and 28 females. It was very good in almost all the classes and departments. We used to celebrate everyone's birthday in the ground or class by cake cutting and go for nearby restaurants to get treat.
Hostel Facilities
Though I was a day scholar, I visited mess few times in the first year and we all gather at hostel very frequently (almost all working days). Mess food was average. My friends told it was very good on non-veg and ice-cream days and average on other days.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior community was very friendly especially during our year. We used to play cricket with our senior team regularly. We had a good relationship with our IT seniors. We gave farewell party in beach resort and full day celebrations. They also guided us in our placements and communication skills. The same we did to our juniors by conducting mock interviews, mock exams and group discussions. The alumni club located in boat club and it was bit costly to get membership. Offline, we are in touch with our seniors.
Exam Structure
It was fun with the exams and labs. Not so hectic. We used to prepare only a few days before the exams. We don't get study holidays for assessments and exams. We will get holidays after the exams. We used to write exams fast and enjoy our holidays. Since

The professors are one of the best in my colleges. It was a good interaction and knowledge sharing with almost all the professors and lectures. Ranjani Parthasarathi mam, who took digital and networking systems, TV geetha mam, who took IT in indian langua
