Remarks

During my last semester of graduation, I and my friends decided to pursue our Post graduation from Jaipuria. Being in Lucknow, I always heard Jaipuria as one of the most renowned colleges, which provides quality education. So after my graduation, I gave my MAT exam, side by side I gave my GDPI in Jaipuria, and when I got my MAT score, I was qualified for PGDM - Financial Services in Jaipuria as my score was above 50 (the minimum criteria). During the GDPI session, various candidates were gathered in a hall, provided an overview of the institute, followed by a Case study in which we had to observe the backfall areas that were lacking in increasing the demand of the company's product as per the case study. Then after some time, we had a group discussion in which we had to keep our points regarding how we can create customer interest and boost the demand of the company given in the case study. In PI, we were asked some GK questions like brand ambassadors of companies, and governing ministers.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose PGDM in Financial Services, the reason being that it provides you a good base while facing placements. The faculties of Jaipuria are helpful, knowledgeable and boost the students to learn more and become adaptable in the corporate world. They are wise teachers with lots of experience in their field and are also Ph.D. and Gold medalists in their subjects. The teaching method in Jaipuria is pre-designed. They have their course outline about what they have to teach and how many topics they have to cover every day. Talking about exams, we have trimesters, which feel recurring in nature. Also, we have lots of assignments, quizzes, viva, and end terms, which though feel like a burden, but makes us multi-tasking and working throughout the day. The exam paper is structured in the form of case studies, in which you have to implement all the techniques you were taught in the classroom. And passing the exams is not that easy. But if one maintains a stable score throughout then it helps in the end.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Companies like Shoppers Stop, ITC, Tata Aig, Asian Paint come for internships with different job roles, like HR Recruiter, Wealth trainee, Sales management intern, Business analyst, etc. But in internships mostly sale is a major role to do. One also has to carry out reports about company internships and learnings from them and define the kind of work we were given and how much capable we were in doing the work.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the starting of 2nd-year students are eligible for campus placement. Also, if in 1st year during an internship, the company provided PPO, then students can work after their studies with that company. The companies that visit Jaipuria are ICICI, HDFC, ITC, Aditya Birla, Deloitte(mass recruiter). The college makes sure that almost all of its students are placed in the company. Its keeps its placement process on till student are placed. But it guarantees 90% placement of students. After getting the degree, I would work in the company is placed, and would also work to start some business when I get financially stable by myself.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fees are somewhat moderate but compared to the education and extra opportunities they provide, it's good. They also provide scholarships to students with good CAT scores and provide installments in the submission of fees. But they have given dates through which if you extend your fees submission, then a fine has to submit along with the fees. The company also provides internships in the summer, which are both paid and non-paid. It provides good learning and exposure to the students.

Campus Life

5

Events - In Jaipuria, fest and event are something very common. It provides the opportunity to learn, manage and create ideas by participating or involving in the event. The events are purely managed by the students, without any teacher intervention, which again creates team spirit and management skills in students. There are also 2 annual events - Ojas( Cultural event) and Mashaal ( Sports event) which go on for few days and are amazing to work with. Library - Jaipuria provides 2 libraries, one for academic subjects and one for overall reading like novels and biographies, magazines. Classroom - The classrooms are digitally equipped with a digital screen, impart us, and whiteboard. Extracurricular activities - Events like sports quiz, techno quiz, debates, case study business plan, etc goes on conducting month to month in the college. Social group - The college has a specific committee for carrying on social awareness and wellness events known as the social responsibility committee.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel rooms - are fine, with a good amount of space. There are single, double and triple bedrooms with AC, which one can choose. In girls hostel, washrooms are provided in every room, while in boys hostel they have common washrooms. Gym, common room, induction, iron press, water cooler is provided in both girls and boys hostel. Menu and meal - 4-time meal @Rs133/- per day is the best thing as per affordability. So you don't have to worry about the food. The quality is also fine most of the time, but sometimes it gets monotonous, because of the same food timetable. But the quality is good. Registration process - One has to submit Rs 30000 in the starting to reserve their room, which will be counted as1st month's fees of their hostel. The locality overall is good. The girl's hostel is near the college and shop area, but the boy's hostel is 2 km from college with conveyance allowance.

Interview Experience

4.5

The topic of GD was a case study provided to us during a written test. In the written test we had to read the case study and write about the factors leading to a decrease in customer demand. Then in GD, we had to discuss the techniques and ideas that can create customer demand and attraction for the product. After that, we had PI, in which first we were asked why did we pursued the course and chose Jaipuria, followed by questions like a brand ambassador of a particular brand, political ministers. For preparing GDPI one can work upon their 1. Communication skills 2. General Awareness 3. Ideas and thought process.

Remarks:

The worst thing about this college is its management. The college management entirely functions as a typical 'Sarkari Karmachalaya' or Government office. If you really want to get your career in the Business Administration you may choose MBA from some other private institution as the amount of freedom any other college will give is not given by this college at all.
