Remarks

My +2 percentage was really low so I didn't have that many options so Karunya was the only college I applied for. No, I didn't apply for any quota. I went through the general procedure. The minimum marks and age to apply in Karunya are 50% and 17 years respectively. The admissions conducted in Karunya are very well organized. They have this huge auditorium where it all takes place. There is a step-by-step guide on how to proceed with the admissions. They'll give you a token and when your number comes they'll give you the necessary forms and all to fill up. All the required documents will be checked and then they'll give you the seat if everything checks. If not, they'll take you to the higher-ups to discuss further. After your admission is final they'll take you for your living arrangements i.e Hostel. It is compulsory for all students to stay in Hostels by the way. They'll allot you a room as per your department. That's it. The whole procedure is complete.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Engineering was not my first choice. But I had to change streams so I came here and since I knew nothing about this field my dad chose 'Electrical and Electronics Engineering' for me. There are around 10-12 professors in my department and the total strength of my class is 33. My batch is the last batch of Electrical and Electronics by the way. The professors in my department are highly qualified. All of them have Ph.D. in their respective fields. They are good at teaching too, they provide us with enough materials and information to work on. My college conduct exams almost every month. we have three internals and an end-semester exam. the difficulty of the exam is pretty average. Like if a student study well then they're sure to secure good marks but if they don't they'll definitely have a hard time clearing that paper.

Internships Opportunities

3

I just started my third year I haven't sat for any placements yet. I just know we have a project to do in our final year which is very essential and all other than that I have no clue. I am sorry. I spent my whole second year in online mode. We didn't even have a counseling session for all this job placement and project stuff.

Placement Experience

4

In the third year, students can start sitting for campus placements. Nutanix, Accenture, and Samsung are some of the companies that come for campus placements. The highest package that I am aware of is by Nutanix of 19.5 lakhs/annum. And the average one is by other companies of 4.5 lakhs/annum. 80% maybe, I am not sure. After getting the degree, I will work for few years if I get a job while pursuing the degree, or I would prepare for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

I would definitely say it's a bit pricey in my opinion. Rs.84,000 per semester and then the add ons hostel fee and mess fee. It's too much. I didn't apply for any scholarship or financial assistance. I just started my third year so our job placement hasn't started yet.

Campus Life

3.5

Many events are conducted all throughout the year. Annually we have our Christmas celebration. We didn't really get a chance to take part in any tech fest because of the Coronavirus. Other than that we have many conferences conducted by IASTE, IEEE, and NEN. We have many interactive fun events with guest speakers and all. Our college has a beautifully equipped library with all sorts of books. Even our classroom is well equipped. It has everything a classroom needs. blackboard, projector. podium, white screen, and really great desks and benches. I don't know about the sports situation in my college. I'm sorry. We do have NCC, they are engaged in their duties almost all the time. IASTE, NEN, and IEEE are some of the groups/clubs the students can join.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels of Karunya are the best. The location? The room? I love it all. Girls Hostel has almost everything we need. We have a mini market, fast food shops, tailors, shoe menders, fruit stalls. gym, and prayer rooms all inside out hostels. Well, it's because they never let us go out for anything. The washrooms and bathrooms are all well kept. The rooms are big enough for four girls to accommodate. They also have two and single-seater rooms by the way. But those are only for the second, third, and fourth years. The rooms allotted are in the first year according to the departments. The Hostel and Mess fee structure is okay. We get exactly what we pay for. We cannot stay in PGs. All students are required to stay in hostels provided by the college.

Placement Experience:

For campus placements students of the 4th year or 7th semester are the eligible ones. Multiple companies like zoho, apple,TCS,CTS, accenture etc have come and multiple small companies too. But the intake for the big and reknown MNCs were low from abt 2-3 candidates only.the placement here is 100% but the companies may vary.My future goal is to go for a government official stream after I finish my masters abroad.

From 3rd year itself a student become eligible for campus placements and some of seniors got ino flipkart like companies. So the college is good at placement. In any colleges, due to college the student can't only be placed, their skills, talents, communication is more important to get placed so based their knowledge the students get placed. only thing college need to do is getting good companies with package and our college also provide it.
