IERT - An affordable one!

I have given UPSEE Paper 8 as I am a lateral entry student. The result of the test is declared after a month in which I got 220 marks out of 400 and 186 Rank. After that, a document verification round is there in which one has to upload some documents like mark sheets and income certificate, etc. After document verification that usually takes 2-3 days, 6 rounds of counseling takes place to get to the college of your choice.

IERT offers a B. Tech course in seven disciplines: Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. My natural curiosity for computers is what drove me towards my computer science degree. I’ve always been fascinated by computers and the technical mechanics behind the monitor. The course structure in the first year i.e. first 2 semesters mainly focused on rebuilding the old basic concepts in subjects like physics, chemistry, and mathematics that we already studied in the Diploma that's why we have an advantage of skipping that year. From the second year onwards, the course structure purely focuses on core subjects like Data Structures, Discrete Mathematics, Computer Organization, and Architecture, etc. In IERT there is a balanced structure of faculty and student ratio as per the AICTE norm and also all teachers are well qualified.

The fee structure of this college is feasible for everyone i.e. cheaper than many of the reputed engineering colleges in India. Talking about scholarships, if the student's family income is equal to or below 2 Lakhs, then he/she can apply for the scholarship offered from Uttar Pradesh Samaj Kalyan Department before 4-5 months of even semester exams through which one can get a full refund of the nonrefundable fees.

Campus infrastructure is not too good as it's not a private or a high-standard government college. There are mainly 3 events organized in college. They are Udbhav(our cultural event), Technovation (Technical event), and Krida (Sports event). Udbhav takes place on our foundation date mainly in October. Technovation takes place in April followed by Krida where a lot of students participate according to their sport interests. Since the college is old, the labs and halls are not very well maintained and require more maintenance.
