Remarks
My admission to the B.Tech. Chemical Engineering course was done on the basis of the merit. The merit list, as far as I remember is made through 50% marks of All Indian Entrance Test ( which is conducted by the Banasthali University) and 60% marks of aggregate percentage in 10+2 school examination. This was one of the main reasons for my admission here as I had not scored well in JEE Mains but it still allowed me to stay in Rajasthan. I am lucky as Banasthali University is one of the top universities in Rajasthan with a well known academic record. I applied online through the website after paying a admission form fee of 800 rupees nut it can be done in person also through the administrative office.
Course Curriculum Overview
My department, that is Chemical Engineering Department is one of the premier engineering departments here. I would say that it has a dynamic and goal oriented group of faculty that is well supported by experienced technical staff. We are instructed with the aim of a broad-based education with emphasis on theory and practice while also keeping in view the current and future requirements of the industry. We are encouraged to identify industrial problems. We also have in-plant training in industrial organizations and pilot plant sized equipment as well as advanced instruments are available. We are encouraged to carry out research work in groups supervised by our professors to solve industrial problems.
Placement Experience
There are placements on graduating years but I do not knnow of them very well yet as I am still in my second year. But the placements from our department is really good, from what I have heard. A lot of well known companies came this year and I heard the highest package offered to one of our seniors was 9 LPA which is really great. The companies I remember from this year was Tata Consultancy services, IBM India, NEC Tech and others. The average package if I remeber right, was somewhere around 4 lakhs per year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total tuition fees for four years for my couse is about 6 lakh rupees. But through one of my friends I got to know that the university also provides financial support to the needy students in the form of merit-cum need scholarships. She told me it also encourages meritorious students by awarding them merit scholarships and other few like the ones provided by philanthropic institutions such as Mahindra & Mahindra Educational Trust, Kanoria Memorial Trust. She actually qualifies for one of them which has partially waived her tuition fees! From what I remember, there are loan scholarships too, but I am not sure how that works.
Campus Life
Our campus is actually entirely for women and fully residential which basically means loads and loads of fun!! The campus to me is beautiful, and I make good memories everyday. The are numerous clubs and activities that we can be a part of after the classes and almost everyone is enrolled in one or the other. We also have game rooms and out door courts for different sporting activities as is amazing too.
