REAL VSSUT

I got 92.7 percentile in my JEE Exam. So, it is quite clear that I could have got into any NITs as I am from General Category. If I could have I would have chosen NIT Rourkela. I applied for CET Bhubaneswar, Sarang, and VSSUT Burla. I choose VSSUT over CET because it is a more reputed institute than CET Bhubaneswar. The selection process was solely based on ranks in JEE Mains. No other discussion or PI. Due to COVID Pandemic there wasn't any counseling session. We were called one day to confirm our admission and we were provided with our registration number.

If I answer this question honestly, I would say I had no other choice. Computer science is the most in-demand BTech course as of now, which we all know. My parents made me take it. Now talking about faculties, no matter which college you go in India, you will find very few faculties who are really good. The rest wouldn't care much. We have some faculties who have their qualification from IIT and some from our own college. I am in my 1st year of college. The COVID Pandemic has ruined any chances of exam. We have been taught 2 semesters through online mode and haven't appeared any semester exams. We were called for 15 days to give mid-semester and practical exams for first semester. Tere was no practical classes for us due to the pandemic.

Internship opportunities are good at our college. The placement cell takes care that the students get maximum exposure to real-life experience. We receive emails every week with different internship opportunities related to our branch.

3 of our seniors were placed at amazon for 15 lakh package. The average package is 4 lakhs. It all depends on the skills you have got in these 4 years of college. Even if you dont get lucky to crack on campus then you can crack off-campus placements.

The fees aren't that high. It couse fee is around 3200 per year. But if you are an SSC student you have to pay double i.e 72000. These are basically paid seats. 3 of our branch seniors hgot placed in Amazon with 15 lakh package. The average package is 4 lakhs. We also got campus for 10 lakhs, 6 lakhs package. If you want you can crack those campuses and have a pretty good job.

The cubs and seniors are quite good here. They are very interactive and will guide you throughout. But talking about social life, it's quite different for girls. For the first year the hostels are closed at 6 PM. If you think you can go anywhere before 6 then you are wrong. You can only get out if you have any classes. Even in second year, the hostel gates are closed by 7PM. Whereas for boys there is no in time in second year. They can go wherever they want anytime. For first-year boys there are some rules but not as strict as girls. So if you think of enjoying your college life by travelling and all and you are a girl then that aeint happening here. Comming to sports, the scenario is same as I have heard from our seniors. Most of the sports club are for boys. Sport events are oeganized every year for 3 days just like in school.

The Hostel food is just awesome. Considering hostel standards in India you cant just complain what you get at VSSUT. The rooms are of average size. 4 people are expected to live in one room but if they have an extra room you can consider shifting with 3 people by talking to the warden. The registration process is quite simple. You have to deposit the fees and report at the hostel for room allotment. It will take maximum 20 minutes for the allotment of rooms.
