BEST GOVERNMENT COLLEGE IN ODISHA

CET is one of the best Government colleges in Odisha. After 12th I was interested in architecture course and there is only 3 government college in Odisha that offers bachelor's in Architecture, CET is one of them. The course fee structure is also affordable here. I wanted to pursue my bachelors in Odisha that too in a government college and one this is a very well known college so many suggested CET. I checked online about the college and the opportunities the college is providing for Architecture and it's got satisfying reviews. The placement and internship program is decent too. The course curriculum, academics and faculties are good here. For Architecture department the faculty to student ratio is 1:10. In our department, the recruitment of contractual faculties is less. Almost 60% of them are permanent teachers. Most of the faculties are very regular, supportive and strict about teaching. They always support students to understand and practice major papers like designing and construction thoroughly. But for the theory subjects, one can't only depend on the college faculties to understand and learn properly. However, you get enough time, scope and a healthy environment to grow by yourself. The priority for major subjects helps you to follow your passion.

There are no direct internship offers for the architecture department from the college itself. However one can get enough knowledge about the internship programs from the faculties and through interactions with seniors. I have attended few internship programs without any stipend. There I learned about design software like AUTOCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator etc. Those internships help in developing your skills. The college allows you to participate in a program called NASA only meant for architecture students. NASA conducts different competitions where our college students show their projects, writing, portfolio, design and extracurricular talents too. These programs provide a good platform to show your skills and interest and the Participation helps you in upgrading your portfolio and maintaining a decent portfolio.

The students need to pay fees for each semester. The fee structure for Bachelors of Architecture is Rs 56800/- per annum. However there are specialized relaxation in fee structure for students with quota. During initial procedure of admission there is a TFW scheme for scholar students. This Tuition fee Webinar helps the students to cut half of the entire course fee structure. There is a CET merit Scholarship of value Rs 1000/- per annum that is awarded to 10% of students of both UG and PG. There are othere scholarships like Medhabruti Scholarship, Minority Scholarship, Post Matric Scholarship etc. Awarded every year to the meritorious students by the government of ODISHA. I applied for the Medhabruti scholarship and awarded Rs 50000/- for the entire bachelor's course. There is also a scholarship called the Need and Merit scholarship by the college. The amount of scholarship is a part of tuition fees would be Rs 5000/- per semester. This is a great help to poor and Mertious students.

The campus area is very big and is an interactive space. There is 24*7 Wi-Fi access. And the internet speed very good. The classrooms, toilets, washrooms and other interactive space are clean and well maintained. There are separate Architectural studios and workshop space for our department. The college had a large playground with specific courts and spaces for basketball, football, cricket, badminton, table tennis etc. However, the present condition and maintenance are not satisfactory. The canteen is big and has specific corners for freshers in order to avoid ragging or any illegal interactions. The OAT is very spacious and surrounded by beautiful landscape. The parking and vehicular circulation system are highly maintained. The college arranges 3fests every year. Two of them are technical fests and allows the students to develop their soft skills communication, writing etc. One of them is a cultural fest that allows you to show your extracurricular skills. There are 6-7 clubs too.

There is no GD or PI for the admission processes. The admission to different UG degree courses like B. Arch, B. Plan, B. Tech is conducted every year through OJEE committee by govt. Of Odisha. And you need to qualify JEE paper 2 entrance examination to proceed further.
