Remarks :
The reason for selecting this institution is because the staff members are friendly, the syllabus of the course is found very informative and advanced, the institution has fame due to its activities and involvement of mid day meal scheme in Tamil Nadu during the MGR period of reign. The admission process of masters study was through institutional entrance exam followed by viva for the students. It carried out for 3 phase first phase for college UG student and then 2 and 3 are for outside student and old UG students also. Then payment of the fees for first 6 months around 21,000 rupees. The institution has wide scope compared to other institution in our place in this field by conducting various research projects.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As food is the basic requirement of every individual and it is essential to take it in a healthy way. As many know about certain nutrition tips but I felt it's necessary to know in detail thus I can regulate the consumption of my foods to healthy then my family followed by the society in order to create an nutritious society. The faculty consist of 10 staff and 1 HOD with 3 lab assistants and 9 labs, 15 PhD scholars under different guides. PG strength is 20 to 30, UG strength is 45 to 56. The staff members have completed their PhD. The teaching skills include projector classes, OHP projection, visualizer, chalk and smart board classes. Each term has two internal and final semester exam with a total of 90 working days.
Placement Experience :
The final year students are eligible for attending the placement in the college .Some of the companies which give placement in our college are Wipro ,amazon and many other fitness centers and food industries and companies like Nestle . Nearly many students get placed in different companies and get the average salary range is 10,000 to 20,000. Based on the interview process the students get selected . My plans after completing the degree is to continue with my education .My aim is to become a dietitian .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The initial fee was 23000 rupees and fee for 2,3 and 4th semester are 11000 to 14000 rupees. The college provides students with various scholarship forms based on the income and community levels. The college arrange for different skills development programmes and arrange placement and job offers in the final year itself.
Campus Life :
The annual fest for the college is called as kalai vila which is conducted in the month of January. Apart from this department has various functions and national and international meet during January and February. The campus has a library which contains books of all subjects and also contains e- library for students when they are out of the college. And has a separate floor for journal section. Each classroom has projectors. The college has NSS, NCC, and sport groups with different activities the college sport have taken part in many activities and win award in state and national wise.
Interview Experience :
Related to food science and nutrition, test pattern includes choose, 2marks and 10 marks. The first step is filling application form, followed by written test and viva by staff of the department and the head. The student who pass the viva are graded based on rank and selected for the course.
