I am from the CSE branch of batch 2019-2023. As I enquired about the placement process, I get to know that nearly 70% of the students got placed by the end of the placement process. Most of them were hired by the TCS, Infosys and IBM. SRM Chennai or SRMIST (formerly known as SRM University) is a Deemed-to-be university that offers degree, diploma and certificate programmes. Apart from full-time programmes, the University also offers various distance-learning programmes via SRM Online/Distance Education mode (SRMODE). SRM is good for personality building as it offers a very large diversity of people. Websites like Collegedunia.com and Shiksha.com can be used well while selecting a college.

Faculty members here are very knowledgeable and experienced. The syllabus is much relevant with C in the 2nd semester, C+ and DSA in the 3rd semester, and Python and other tech subjects in the 4th semester. Teachers are quite helpful, but some are strict too. Still, they also have to follow the management rules. The teaching quality is good. North-Indians sometimes face some communication gaps due to the language barrier, otherwise, the rest is fine.

Almost 80% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered in our college is 41 LPA. Top recruiting companies in our college are Infosys, TCS, TCS Ninja, Wipro, Amazon and Adobe. Overall, the college is good enough to get a decent job.

I am paying 3.5 lakh for tuition fees here and 1.5 lakh for my hostel + mess facility (expensive). Students receive a full 100% waiver of tuition fee, boarding, and lodging in the university hostel, and transportation. This scholarship is given to the students who came Top 100 in the SRMJEEE merit list, Top 1000 rank in IIT JEE (Main), District Toppers in each district of Tamil Nadu, State Board Toppers in HSC, and Exemplary Sports persons at National / International Level. Merit Scholarship, Students who have secured above 95% in CBSE or in state board examinations and also ranked amongst the top 10000 in SRMEE are eligible to apply for this scholarship has a value of up to 50% of tuition fee waiver in the branch they are eligible for at the time of counselling. Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship (Socio-economic disdained). Scholarship, 25% to 100% tuition fee waiver, is offered to students who are economically challenged based on their performance in the qualifying examination.

Cultural programs are organized several times during the year to encourage creative pursuits and nurture talent. Milan - The Cultural Fest. The very name translates to a get-together, sure, but Milan, the cultural extravaganza of SRM Institute of Science and Technology offers so much more. Milan is a National level cultural event that hosts events for tens of thousands of students who fly in from various parts of the country. There is a plethora of variety in the events that take place, which to name a few are, "Fashion Show" for the aspiring models, "Talkathon" for the wannabe debtors, "Short film screening" for the upcoming 'James Cameroons' and a DJ Night, for the nocturnals. Tarana - The SRM Talent Fest, AARUSH fest, Shuru - The Icebreaker, Gokulashtami, Anti Ragging, Students' Grievances and Redressal, NSS, NCC, etc. SRM Centre for Performing and Fine Arts (CPFA), Fitness Centre, Sporting Excellence, Various Clubs, Community radio, etc.

The students staying at SRM hostels are provided with healthy and sumptuous food options at highly subsidized rates. SRM provides comfortable and safe housing to all its students. The students housed on the campus are encouraged to use the gymnasium, playground, and all indoor gaming facilities.
