Remarks

I got this college in my UPSEE exam counseling. Since I had a decent rank in my UPSEE exam I believed I would be provided a good private college. After being alloted this college we visited the college and everyone was so well behaved and seemed kind to us. So we fell in the honey trap and I was admitted to the college. This college was near my hometown so I decided to opt for it. On first visit the campus seemed decent enough.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The course was same as in all BTech colleges. This college also provides Bpharma, Mtech and MBA courses. Since I was into machines from my childhood, I was always keen to find out how it all worked, so I opted for mechanical engineering which proved to be a disaster for my career. The faculty here are decent in number, but you'll find one faculty covering different subjects ( which are completely opposite in nature ). However there are several professors who have deep knowledge about the subject but are too lazy to provide it unless you really are keen about it. I don't know what's with the college and appointment of female teaching staffs, believe me all of them are appointed on looks, they have very little knowledge about the subject they are given. The exams are conducted regularly and the difficulty level is not comparable to that of the university exam. It is understandable as they have to provide the students with decent internals. But still after constantly scoring good marks in exams, if you are a bad influence in the faculty's eyes, no way you are getting marks above the passing line.

Placement Experience

2

Students become eligible for placement after 5th semester onwards. They show 100 % placement every year, but it is a straight lie. Most of the company that visit the campus belong to either I T sector or MBA. If you are from Mechanical engineering or Electrical engineering branch do not even think of getting placed in your core company on campus. You have to try getting placed off campus. Companies like byju, and other IT startups often visit the campus but do not offer more than 3 LPA. Even if you are average student of IT or CS branch, you can get placed because companies like TCS and wipro pick them up in bulk.

College Events

However one thing I have to give to the college is that academic aside, if you are interested in any kind of sports or want to get into any, there are a lots of opportunities here in the campus. Name any game, they have it. Also if you want to get in shape there is a gym available for hostellers and the equipment there are better than normal urban gyms. They also hold Aamod, which is a national level sports fest. Also if you want to showcase your talent they have an annual function Zest. The annual function months are the most awaited moment in this college, as we get to interact with people of the same interest from all over the college. The Library is good with the required number of books and a book bank. Also they have a reference section for students to sit and refer to books.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for the college is about 200000 p.a. Also they charge you a lot more than this in the name of various fines. Also one strange thing I noticed in this college is that you have to pay money to each and every department just so that they could verify that you do not have any dues at the end of every semester. However if you are a girl or ( in case of guys ) an exceptionaly hard working guy, then the college trust provides you with scholarship on the basis of your academic score. The reason I am saying that if you are girl is because I have seen every girl ( given you do not leave your answer sheet blank or admit it that you are dumb) get the trust scholarship once. However if you think you might get a concession in your college fee you are mistaken. Depositing fee, that too on time is must or else they add 100 rs fine to every day you are late in depositing your fee.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

They meal provided is average. You would start hating the dishes that you once loved because of the way they cook it. The campus canteen provides us with eggs at much higher rates but you cannot even get eggs yourself from outside or else you will be penalized and have to go through a committee of board members. And beleive me the way they thrash you with rude and immoral language, you won't have heard that in your lifetime. You can always complain about the meals to the warden. He listens but won't take any action. So about the meal, you cannot do anything about it but cook and eat Maggie on your own.

Form the beginning of very first year students are eligible for the campus placements. TCS, cognizant, wipro, are the some companies visited here. Highest package is 44 lpa in amazon which is off campus for software role. Placements % is quite medium if you are serious about skill then you will be get a path here to go ahead. Arround 60 to 70 is the placement % My plans after getting degree is to get a job.

No companies as here only lawyers of arbitration and other domains come to hire students. Most students though have PPO from their interning companies but not real 10-20 LPA placements for Galgotias and that i wish change because our university academics and the kind of learning that is provided is at par with that of NLUs.

Packages aren't as good or big as NLUs as 4-5 lakhs is median and just 25% students gets placements from University. Most students though go for litigation and I am also going to do the same as this is how I want to build my career and take it forward. Even LLM is also an option and GLA University is the one from where I will do, if I plan to do masters.

Average package at GLA University may range between 5-7 lakhs but one student has managed to get placements of 55 lakhs and that is still the record placement from GLA University campus Mathura. Around 70-75% students are placed every year but I will be preparing for GATE as my ambition are to be atleast post graduate if not a PHD.

Amity University, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Overall curriculum was good that they make proper schedules of classes and all but there was something lacking is that sometimes the professor was absent and we wasn't aware about that and sitting in that class without knowing they should inform us or make a proper arrangement for replacing of class with other teacher and also there was lacking of technology in studies I didn't remember how many times they used the projector for proper teaching.
