Entrance Preview
I took Amity Entrance examination and opted for ASET. Apart from Amity entrance exam, I had also appeared for AIEEE and certain other entrance exams.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for our course was very extensive giving expert insights to our main stream (Electronics AND communication engineering). Apart from main stream, we had several other subjects of other streams (like Computer Science and Information Tech.) also.
Internships Opportunities
Though there were no internships provided by the college, but they helped us in getting our 3rd year training by providing request letters to various organizations.
Placement Experience
The placement was the USP of the institute. Almost everyone from our batch was placed in 3rd year itself in all reputed companies. the average package offered was around 3 lakhs per annum which might have increased as per the market standards now.
College Events
There are a lot of cultural and technical events organized in college at regular intervals keeping students involved in cultural activities also apart from studies. There is an annual sports event called "Sangathan" in which all the colleges of the University participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is slightly on the higher side, but its recommended keeping in mind the facilities and standard of education maintained. The fees during session 2004-2008 was 100000/year, though I am not sure about the current fees structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
Amity has a very good scholarship program for meritorious students on basis of marks in XIIth standard. The scholarship continues if you maintain high academic results in each semester of you studies. I had availed 50% fees scholarship on basis of my academic grades.
Campus Life
Amity is a very diverse college with students across the India of every religion, gender, ethnicity and economic status. There are a lot of extracurricular, labs, sports, competitions such as robotics, debates etc. Also, Student/Dorm Parties, workshops, cultural societies or Student diversity are regular.
Hostel Facilities
They have a high rise hostel building and a world class mess which provided food of various cuisines across the globe. The hostel has air-conditioned sharing rooms which provide comfort as well as great security. Also there are recreational rooms in hostels to keep students engaged.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are very helpful and help the freshers and junior students to adjust and study in every possible way.
Exam Structure
They have similar exam structure as any other engineering college in India. Apart from main semester exams, they have three internal exams per semester which keeps students involved in studies. Overall a good exam structure to get grades without over-burdening the students.
Faculty
Amity has highly qualified permanent professors who help to clarify the basic concepts very clearly. Apart from all highly prudent permanent professors, they also have a lot of visiting faculty from various other reputed universities across the globe.
