Remarks
I choose this college because I found it better than similarly placed colleges in terms of fees and the placements provided, further I got a scholarship to study here. I also found out that the faculty here are amongst the best and the curriculum is top notch, so wasn't as difficult a decision.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course and curriculum is as per industry standards, with new subjects being introduced as per market demands. The faculty are highly qualified and good at teaching. We had hybrid classes with both online and offline, but the faculty adapted and taught us the essentials to make us industry ready. The term exams were held on time and weren't a difficult to pass for students who've studied a bit for the term exams. The faculty student ratio is near about 1:50.
Internships Opportunities
There have been various companies that came to campus, considering the pandemic. Some of them are Crisil, Jio ,Creative labs, Volvo Eicher, Mondelez, Vodafone, Payu, Samunnati, Babychakra, among others. The highest stipend went up to 25k per month. The roles vary between marketing, finance, HR and operations, with majority being placed in roles they wanted.
Placement Experience
Campus placements have been good considering the pandemic, there have been great additions this year, owing to the jolt of enthusiasm brought in by our new placement coordinator. The companies that came in are Goldman Sachs, Bain & Co., Crisil, Barclays, Nielsen, KPMG, Deloitte, Volvo Eicher, Byjus, HDFC, Adani Wilmar, Xiaomi, RR Kabel, among a plethora of others. All the Summer internship students have been placed and around 40 remain for final placements, which will be complete by the end of the current placement season. The highest package has been 16 LPA and average hovered around 8 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is near the figure of 12 lakhs, including hostel and all other amenities. There is a merit scholarship available for candidates who've scored above 90 percentile in either CAT or XAT. Bank loans are available at decent rates and there is the 'Late Mahendranath Merit cum means scholarship' for students who have shown noteworthy achievements on the academic front. So fee wise, our college can be considered one amongst the best.
Campus Life
The campus is situated 30 kms away from the city, but we never felt that distance since we get everything we need right on campus, even the social life on campus is great. Further, there are clubs and committees which keep us busy with various activities, the library has an excellent collection of books and journals for bookworms. Classrooms are well lit, with socially distanced seats, keeping the pandemic in mind. The sports facilities are open to all the students and all the sports equipments are available for our use. For reference one can visit the IMT Nagpur pages for fnf, prayatna, sports committee, Zimfonia, Hypnotics, Rangmanch, etc. On Instagram.
Hostel Facilities
There are single and double rooms with a bed, table, chair, wardrobe, fans and lights. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly and there's 24 hours hot water facilities. One can purchase whatever they need, like mattress, curtains, tubs, mugs, doormats, and other essentials from the cooperative store called Prayatna, which too is student run. The rooms are clean and there are staff available to clean the same if the need be. Food from the mess is excellent and one of the best hostel food in my experience. There are other eateries like Frost n Fun, another student run ventures which sells shakes and paranthas. The hostel rooms are allotted to the students.
Interview Experience
Yes I faced a GD and PI during the selection process, we were given a marketing task, wherein a case study was provided with problems related to how to promote the business and exploring the different aspects be covered with regards to the problem at hand. The Interview revolved around my CV and current affairs.
