NIT Patna

I chose to attend this college because of the reputation of the college as well as the NIT tag of the college. The college provides good ROI and faculty is also well renowned and dedicated to teaching the students. The admission process is done through JEE mains and joint counseling process after that. Entrance exam is held in the month of April and admissions are done by the end of June. I got to know about this college from my school seniors and coaching instructors.

I chose this course because of the relevant course structure and industry based curriculum. Faculty to student ratio is around 1:70. All the faculties are highly qualified and dedicated to teaching their students. The teachers fulfill the minimum criteria to teach in a reputed engineering college. Teaching method includes classroom teaching and regular lab sessions along with the regular class and home assignments. Mid semester and end semester exams are the regular timely exams along with frequent class tests and quizzes. Exams are not that difficult to pass and students can score well if they are regular to their classes and self study.

Placements are good and top reputed companies visit the campus. PSUs also visit the campus for placements which is an uncommon phenomenon for an engineering college. Highest package offered was 15 LPA and average stands at 5.5 LPA. 95% students get placed in the placement season. I am working with IBM after completing my graduation.

Free structure is rigid and students need to pay the semester fee within a week of the start of the semester. However the fee is much less as compared to the other engineering colleges of the same stature. Semester fee for odd semester is 20000 whereas for even semester it's 18500. Scholarships are available to students on the basis of caste categories. And financial aid through banks can be easily accessed by the students. Internships are not arranged for by the college administration. However, final placement are overseen by them.

Annual tech fest and cultural fest are organized in the even semester in the months of January and March. All the required books are available for the students. In addition to the common central library, a separate library is also available for SC/ST category students. Required books are issued to the students on their library cards.

Each room has separate beds and table chair for each of the residents. Students have their own almirah and cupboards for their own personal use. Proper meal in the form of breakfast, lunch, evening snack and dinner is provided in the timely manner. Students can also visit night canteen for the night snacks. Both veg and non veg food is available in the hostel mess. Hotel can be availed at the starting of each year and registration and fee payment are done during that duration.
