Remarks
SIBM Bengaluru was highly rated within the 2/3 tier college segment, especially by the coaching institute where I studied. A few factors pointed out to me were: Steadily growing CTC in the placements, The Bloomberg terminals, the vibrant campus in Electronic City and its burgeoning brand value. Plus the admission process was absolutely spot on, and it allowed me to truly envision myself studying there. Pagalguy was the website that I usually scoured every day, to get insights or updates from the institute. The admissions team is highly active and always ready to answer all the doubts.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are merely 214 students here, which is quite better than the usual 500+ strength that is present across most B schools. This makes the experience a lot better and focused. Faculty joined in from all the top institutes and usually brought in 15+ years of work-ex or PHDs. Exams were always on time.
Internships Opportunities
I was placed at OYO with a monthly stipend of 30,000. However, there are many companies like ITC, Credit Suisse, ITC hotels, Puma, MTR and a few big names from all fields like finance, HR, Marketing and Operations that do open up profiles here.
Placement Experience
You are thrust into the placement season right from the second month at the college. The highest package is around 20 LPA and the average is around 11/12 LPA. The median is also around 11 LPA which would be a better way to gauge its success.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the 18 Lac fee was a bit of a downer, so be ready to feel a bit of a pinch when you go to your loan officer. For a loan, this size, do check out PSU banks and try and keep the interest rate below 10 or 11%.
Campus Life
The campus is small but still quaint and vibrant. The fests are many and always keeping you busy. You'll have a total of 4+ fests where the college would be bustling and you'd get a chance to network quite frequently. Classrooms are quaint and neat and the sports activities available are football, basketball, pool, Table Tennis and a gym are also available.
Hostel Facilities
Toilet Bathroom attached, 4 meals a day provided at the mess. And also, it is a residential campus with a curfew till 12. But a few night outs are also provided per month - provided you apply for it beforehand.
Interview Experience
The Admissions Process or GEPIWAT is a Six-Sigma process - conducted on time, swiftly and was super-focused. There were a GD and WAT (written ability test) and a personal interview. If you're up to date with the current affairs from the business world, then you will b able to breeze through it. And also have a quick and crisp introduction speech, it always helps.
