SRMJEE , Biotechnology in SRM offers very good opportunities to learn and explore and experiment them on a real time basis. There is a plethora of instruments and labs which lets one to apply the concepts learnt.
Course Curriculum Overview
The subject in itself is a research based one which identifies the real time problems and find solutions. My electives have been mapped according to my area of interest that is environmental biotechnology. I would rate it 8 on 10 as more mentoring should be done to the students to identify their areas of interest in the grass root level.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are provided by some of the departments and they are not stipend. The internships are provided to the students of the particular departments.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities were good till last year. This year the recruiters are recuriting much less than the previous years,since they are facing recession in the technology and product based industries. Product based companies like L&T , Godrej,Saint Gobain,Ashok Leyland, TCS,CTS,Wipro,infosys.etc.Indian navy is also one of the recruiters.
College Events
We have two major events celebrated in our collage, they are the Milan and the Aarush. The milan is a cultural fest and focuses on the cultural events and the aarush is the technical event which focusses on the techinical events, workshops etc. There are various other events and clubs in the campus to involve the students in various different events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its quite expensive. The fee structure differs with the branch u choose and the marks u obtain the SRMJEE and the corresponding board exams. The students can also apply for scholarships if they meet all the eligibility criteria. Constant GPA of 9.0+ if maintained throughout the whole year are provided with 75% scholarship for the coming years.

Founders scholarship is provided for less privilged people who performed extremly well in their boards and the SRMJEE. Sports scholarship is given for consistent perfomers in the field of sports.
Alumni/Alumna
We have monthly alumni talks arranged by the departments which focuses on job opportunities and tips on how to crack exams and education in abroad are the topics which are talked upon. Yearly alumni meets are also organized which catalyses the learning process to a different level.
Exam Structure
Labs are major part of our curriculum as the subject is a research based experimental subject. Till the second year it was tiring as we had a different system of grading. And from our 3rd year we put through the system of credit based flexible system. Exams are tiring. But quality questions were asked to enhance our thinking skills.
Faculty
The faculties of SRM are the experts in their own field if interests. The faculties of SRM use different modules such as ppt presentation, videos, images and guest lectures and lecdem on the topics for the better understanding of the concepts. They also push the students to apply their ideas in a practical working model and guide them with their valuable inputs.
