I have taken GAT exam and scored 89 in the online test. I chose Mechanical Engineering department as my first option and got it in the first counselling.

The course curriculum is well suited for people looking forward to get a job in the core companies appear for GATE exam. Importance is given to CAD/CAM in the curriculum with 4 lab courses and two subjects involving these topics. A good amount off exposure to manufacturing techniques in the coursework. The electives are introduced in the 4th year.

In our department, students can approach the faculty regarding the openings. To my knowledge stipend is not generally provided.

In general students holding a CGPA of 7.5 should not have a problem in securing a job. The major recruiters includes TCS, WIPRO , Accenture , Hyundai and many more.The packages generally ranges from 3- 10 Lakhs per annum.

Various interdepartmental techfests and management fests takes place every year, people form all over the state do take part in those. GUSAC carnival is one of popular fest among these fests, which started in the year 2012. Other fests are generally held by department or two.

I would the fee is expensive . After the converting into university the fee started at 1.08 lakhs per annum to 2.5 lakhs per annum without much improvement. Hardly anything justifies the raise in the fee. If students have cheaper option i would suggest to consider before joining in GITAM.

For the top 10 rankers in the GAT exam there is a fee waiver and based on semester performances there is a scholarship for students whose parents are not govt employees. Based on the admission generally all the banks provide the education loan, unsure if the college provides some assistance .

Maybe one of the best campuses in entire state (or even entire india) because of the location. It lies just opposite to rushikonda beach. Do not expect many girls if opting for core departments. The ratio is in general 1:1 in other departments.

I was a day scholar so i cannot comment on the hostel scene. Currently 7 food courts are in the campus. The pricing was really cheap during our time. A Subway outlet is located in the ICT building, Other franchises includes Frankie and cocacola happiness station.

The departments are trying to establish a strong alumni network. The best way is to interact with the seniors since day1 which may come in handy in the future

During our time the exam pattern splitted into 40 marks internal 60 marks for end semester for coursework, and for the labs its 60 marks internal and 40 marks external. The internal marks are evaluated based on attendance, mid exams, classroom quiz exams and assignments .

The faculty are well qualified most of them hold doctorate and post doc. Few of them came from a industrial background with companies like GE and others. Many of the faculties are involved in various sponsored projects from industries like DRDO, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation limited and few other private companies.
