Remarks
FORE School of Management is located in an area that gives it an edge over many B-Schools of similar ranking. Institutes including IIT Delhi, IIFT, IMI Delhi are located close to FORE which makes the entire area student-centric. The reason why North Campus is famous (for it's student-friendly environment) is similar to FORE School of Management. Also, being near to corporate hub Gurgaon, industrial visits are highly convenient to provide regular industry exposure. With MBA in FORE, part-time internships can easily be managed as it is a non-residential program so the curriculum is planned in a manner wherein studies and extracurriculars are concluded within college timings. The admission process for the year 2020 went on till July/August (including waitlist selection). The initial process was concluded by March 13, 2019. After the first cycle, waitlisted candidates are called for the selection process till July. For information, I looked in FORE's official website & reviews.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum at FORE is extremely vast and highly relevant. Everything which is taught has a practical application in industry. First-year subjects include the introduction of various functions of a business like HR, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Communication, Ethics, etc. after which specializations are selected. The foundation led by faculty for students of diverse backgrounds makes FORE one of the most accommodating MBA institutes. The average class size is 60 students for the first year. However, for certain courses, the batch is broken into a small size of 40 students in order to increase interaction in high involvement subjects. The exam is conducted every 1.5 months. This span of 1.5 months makes learning easier as it does not create pressure of too much syllabus as well as does not create a sense of frequent exams. Within each span of 1.5 months, students along with the syllabus take up different Live Projects, work in part-time internships, get certifications and even work on research papers.
Internships Opportunities
A combination of Summer Internship Programs and Live Projects are offered for students of PGDM, PDGM-FM, BDA (Big Data Analytics), and IMG (International Management) students. Roles offered are Marketing and Sales Executive, Investment Banking, Investment Banking Executive, Operations Intern, Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, HR Executives among others. The benefits for Live Projects vary from certificates, LOR to a stipend of up to Rs. 10,000 a month (can be exceeded too) depending upon company to company. The range of stipends offered at FORE at the time when jobs are limited due to unforeseen circumstances of lockdown and its brutal aftereffects, the stipend ranges from a variable (commission based) to as high as 75,000. The average stipend a student can expect is Rs. 15,000 (during COVID-19).
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements right from the first term. Companies visit colleges throughout the year to offer placements in various domains. The highest package was Rs. 30LPA for IT/ITES domain, Rs. 20LPA for Operations, Rs. 18LPA for Marketing, Rs, 12LPA for consulting and research, Rs, 11LPA for finance, and Rs. 11.5LPA for Human Resources. FORE School of Management is an attractive institute in terms of the package if you are a fresher as the batch is majorly composed of them, therefore, diluting the competition for placements. Major recruiters at FORE are ITC, United Biscuits, HUL, Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, Hero, Signify, Deloitte, KPMG Global Services among many others. For the candidates looking for Marketing & Sales domain jobs, FORE is one of the most diverse options in terms of industries for this profile.
Fees and Financial Aid
As per the guidelines owning to pandemic followed by nation-wide lockdown, there was NO hike in fees for the year 2020 which was previously scheduled. The fee for one year is Rs. 7,49,000. It is a non-residential program hence the students residing outside Delhi might need to incur the extra expenses of accommodation, traveling, and food. Assignments and projects given do not require any extra input in terms of money. The college provides scholarships to students with family income less than Rs. 6L, only selected students with consistent high scores get the scholarship. Apart from this, the topper of the batch gets Rs. 1L concession regardless of family income. Educational loans are easily available however the fees for the same is different from the self-financed option. Job on campus for the stipend is not available as such since operations are completely online. If asked then assistance can be provided for finding paid internships. The placement cell brings internship opportunities regularly
Campus Life
The annual fest of Fore, Genesis is conducted during the month of November b the cultural committee of FORE. 25+ events are organized in various domains over a 2-day fest along with cultural nights. There is a separate website for the fest as well. The library of FORE (both online and offline) as well as journals, articles never fall short of student's expectations. Students also get the opportunity to present their research papers at prestigious conferences.
Interview Experience
For my admission process, I was given a quiz and a Personal Interview following it. The quiz included static General Awareness questions as well as Business Awareness questions. It was in MCQ format. However, the weightage of that quiz is little as most of my answers were wrong. The interview will majorly determine selection in FORE School of Management. Special emphasis is given on your background and subject knowledge. Please be mindful of not using any slag language during the interview. Professionalism is expected in every aspect of the selection process and NO, Watching TV Series IS NOT a hobby. Kindly do not mention the same in the interview. General awareness is a MUST. If static GK is weak then please ensure to make up for the same by extensive reading of current GK. More emphasis on business news over political news. Whenever asked to take sides for any topic, do not take sides instead give the pros and cons of both sides.
