Hidden Gem - FORE School of Management

My percentile was 89.100 in XAT, as per this score, IRMA, KJ Somaiya, FORE, GIM, LBSIM were the best calls that I had. These all are part of Tier 2 B-Schools. I am living in Delhi for the past 20 years now and I would save money if I go to college from my home rather than living in Hostel and that's why I chose FORE as in terms of fees, placements, faculty, it is at par with all the colleges that I have mentioned. Apart from that, I wanted to pursue my career in Sales, and FORE is known for Marketing as most of the companies that visit FORE provide sales & marketing profiles. The admission process of FORE is also quite simple, Business Quiz followed by WAT, Extempore, and a Personal Interview, there is no GD Case Discussion involved.

The pedagogy which is followed in FORE is quite similar to most of the premier B-School, Presentations, Case Studies, Research Study are part of almost every day schedule. All the faculties have done their Masters and Doctorate from reputed Institutions, most of them have good amount of industry experience which can be felt when they teach in class. Recent case studies are used to make sure that students are up to date with recent phenomena's in the market. There are 3 terms in 1 Year, every term has a Mid Term and an End Term both of which is 100 marks. For every subject, marks are divided in this way, 20% weightage is given to Mid Term, 40% to End Term, 10% to class participation, 10% to Quiz that happens quite frequently and the last 20% to Assignments.

Internship opportunities available at FORE are Immense, companies from different sectors offering diverse profiles come for hiring. Profiles such as Sales, Market Research, Digital Marketing, Investment Banking, Analyst, HR are offered. The average stipend is between 25000-45000 per month, highest is 100000 per month. Some of the prominent recruiters are Asian Paints, Nestle, ITC, GEP, GE Power, HSBC, etc.

After taking admission in FORE, within a month Companies start coming for Summer Placements, all the big brand offering huge stipend comes in the starting months, highest stipend has gone up till 150000. Final Placements generally start from September, generally, the whole batch is placed but there are cases when students opt-out from the process if they get any opportunity from outside the campus or they want to pursue their family business. The average Package is 10.6 LPA whereas the Median is 10.1 LPA.

In terms of services provided, the fees is a bit high as FORE does not have a big campus and there is no proper Hostel facility available, students who are coming from outside Delhi have to rent a PG or a Flat which increases the total cost even more but at the same time, the fees include an International Immersion program where in students are sent abroad for International Exposure. For students whose family income is less than 6 Lakhs per annum, scholarships are provided based on their academic performance during the curriculum. For people who are living in Delhi, FORE is one of the best alternatives as there is plenty opportunities available as far as placements and exposure is concerned.

There are various Committees that have been formed to conduct extracurricular activities throughout the year. Case Study Competition, Puzzles, Singing & Dancing competitions are the few that happen every year. Every year a sports event is organized by FCSD which is FORE Sports and Cultural Division wherein teams compete with each other in various sports such as Cricket, Football, TT, and Badminton, these teams represent their respective classes or section. Every year there is an Annual Fest that goes by the name Genesis, wherein all the committees come together to create a huge event.

There is no GD in FORE. First, there is a Business Quiz followed by WAT and then an Extempore and an Interview. The business quiz involves questions of current affairs, even the extempore topics are related to recent news only. My topic for Extempore was the Impact on the Indian Economy if Huawei introduces a 5G spectrum in the Indian Market. The key to crack FORE interviews is to be thorough with recent business news and current affairs.
