College is good in almost every term having good campus life, good academics, Excellent extra curricular activities exposure, Very Good placements and a Load of sweet memories.

GATE-2012, Gate Score - 657, Gate cutoff list was sufficient to get admission in college. Thermal power Engineering is the top most branch for a mechanical engineering aspirant having very good facilities.

The course curriculum is average, but is being taught by very good professors giving practical approach to teaching research activities are comparatively much better as compared to academics. We can do research in our field of interest in our own stream or other one as per interest. Some internship options are also offered by fortune 500 companies.

Yes, The college provides internship in India as well as abroad. Masters students are generally offered internships in India only whereas undergraduate students have ample opportunities in India as well as abroad. Some famous Internship companies are P&G, Continental, GTRE etc. stipend varies from 15000 to 6000 PM based on student profile and corresponding company.

Placement is Superb and you don't have to bother about jobs after completing the course duration. 18 out of 24 students were got placed from thermal power engineering in 2012-14 batch. The minimum package offered was 3.01 LPA and maximum package offered was 7.5 LPA.

There are three Fests organised by students in the college per year by the students. The bigger one is Festember which is annual fest of 4-5 days having cultural, rock concerts, technical areas. The second one is a Technical fest called Pragyaan, which is a three day event. The third one is NITT FEST, which is again a three day event.

Fees structure for 2012-14 batch was feasible and was as per Govt norms. The total cost per year was 42000 for academic and 25000 for hostel approximately. Tuition fees is exempted for SC/ST Student. The fees payment procedure is very simple and can be paid by SBI-i Collect.

Scholarships are offered for various class of students depending upon their financial situation. Loan facilities are not provided directly by college, but can be easily availed by SBI branch available inside the campus.

Campus life is superb as we get exposure to various culture and diverse range of students from every part of country. Sex ratio is moderate. A lot of festivals are celebrated inside the campus by student organisation Viz., Ganesh Festival, Durga Puja, Saraswati Puja, Onam, Pongal etc.

There are approximately 18 hostels in NIT premises for both graduate and undergraduate courses. Hostel rooms are designed for single, double triple, quadruple basis. A common mess is assigned to particular number of hostel serving both north Indian and south Indian food.

Alumni's are placed in very good organisations and they always remain in contact with the college. Placement assistance is provided by alumni's to TPC cell. Central library is funded by a batch of alumni's only.

Exam structure is hectic and it's very difficult to get time except weekends. The coursework has three class test, One Final Test, Surprise Test, PPT per semester apart form lab work. However the exam paper is being set from the course material taught by professors only, so no need to worry if you have attended all the classes.

The faculties are mostly Phd or Pdf from IIT's, Nit's and Anna university having a very good academic and research background. The professors are continuously engaged in teaching, research and industry interaction. The faculty would be rated above 8 out of 10 for most cases.
