Remarks
Neither I have anything against my college, nor I have great much love. But the college gave me lots of friends, crushes, chuddy buddy yaars and lifelong brothers. I will always be thankful of that to my college. About the management, it was good and systematic. Every thing works in procedure, and the staff is also very helpful.
Entrance Preview
I wrote my Pre-Engineering Test after my school and got 78 out of 200 ( that's the only worst part). I went for my counselling and waited around 6 hours for my turn. Finally, I got my turn and when I went to choose a college, only few colleges were left, who were giving admission in Computer Science (in General Category, another worst part). Fortunately, I chose my college, when only 3 seats were available. I found myself lucky, to get that college. At that time, i didn't know, what's on the way. A beautiful and unforgettable journey of my life.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Structure is good and easily graspable. I got around 60 subjects in my whole Engineering, which explored every bit of Computer Industry and every platform, on which companies are working on. In initial semester, I also got in introduction with various subject from different department, like mechanical and civil department. I also got to learn some concepts from electronics department. Course structure helped me build a proper shape from my career.
Internships Opportunities
Sorry about that. My college does provide various campus drive and always arrange placements for their students. They often provide some workshops on how to improve aptitude and communication skills. However, on internship part, I must say, our college lacks, and that's one of the things I want my college to improve upon.
Placement Experience
Placements are good and job opportunities are better in my college as compared to other private colleges. But less than government and some high profile engineering colleges. It is students, who doesn't grab the opportunity given by the college. Most of the student lacks in their skills and fails to shoot in the bulls eye. They didn't even cross the aptitude or general test, which is the initial process of any recruitment.
College Events
My college celebrates most of the events, which any college would celebrate. We have tech-fest in which all students are busy in their events. Halls are always filled with quiz event. Computer Labs are only for LAN Gaming (Counter Strike and NFS, oh those days). Auditorium always have a bunch of dance groups and comedy acts. Then, we have cultural events, on every festival, like on holi, we had some events, on Navratri, we have Garba Competition, and so on. Then there is annual function, which alwasy honors some of the geeky students and some of the dance groups, who represented our college on state level. Geez.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As every college have, fees is expensive, but not that much. Everybody can afford 50k bucks a year. Whats the big deal. I mean every engineer has prodigal father, who always thinks to throw money. No, it should be feasible and a monthly payment criteria should be instituted.
Fees and Financial Aid
Only reservation policy which people are getting through their caste. Nothing else. Come one, We are living in India, what type of question is this.
Campus Life
First of all, about gender ratio. Its like 40:60 boys to girls ratio in my branch. Surprising but true. But if we include civil and mechanical branches, this ratio is beyond opposite. You know, those branches are always messy. About curricular activities, Sports week is the only week, where you can find every student of college, in college. That's the only time when student's attendance are high. About the race, religion and caste, our college never use such types of words. There is no environment of discrimination. Students enjoy together regardless of their caste, religion and their BS.
Hostel Facilities
Sorry, but No hostel in my college. Student from outer city, has to take rental homes of PGs in order to survive the Engineering.(pun intended). Well, I was the local person, so no problem to me. But most of my friends were from outer station, they have to face many problem to search for a land lord in to take rented apartment or room. Then we have various restrictions of land lords, like dont come late, 9:00 PM gates will be closed, No Girls, No Drinking and Smoking, blah blah blah. And rents were like, they are not giving space to live, they are sending us to Space. Rents were pretty much high. For one room, my friends have to pay around 7-8k depending on the locality. Also some bad isolated places have around 4-5k, where most Downtown place have around 10-12K, even 15K at some places.
Alumni/Alumna
Well, most of our seniors are working in high profile companies and I personally had contacts with few of them. Some went to abroad for further education, because they think their servility will earn them good amount in other countries, instead in their own country. Apart from personal contact, there is no step taken by college to connect their alumni with their freshers. I think it should be done, so that seniors and alumni can help freshers and sophomores and guide so that they can avoid mistakes. You know what I mean.
Exam Structure
Exam Structure is mundane. Nothing new and fascinating. (Well, who likes exams btw). Labs are in working condition (thank god) and students mostly be found in labs only. Because they were either working on anything or just lingering and hanging out with their friends. (yes, in labs).
Faculty
Faculties were very friendly and comprehensive. Every faculty was in touch with every student in my batch and also with students from other classes. Most of my faculties were either had an experience working in an IT company or some were even running a company. Most of the faculties knew every platform on which today's companies are working on. One of the good team of mentors we get to guide us through our engineering.
