Remarks
This college is a part of the University of Delhi. The college has a very good location. The classroom is approx 100. The hospital with college is 100 bedded Delhi government hospital. The Bachelor's course is for 5½ years and PG viruses are of 3 years duration. The fees are also below nominal. It's just approximately 1500 rs per year. The only bad thing about the college is slow administration, like any other government organisation. Since 2016, the admissions take place via NEET. I preferred this college over others because the hospital is bigger, the OPD is bigger and so are the number of patients one would get to see during the internship. The faculty is good. The college also has PG courses where you get quota if you have done graduation from this college. College's locality is really good. The connectivity with metro and bus is great. You can easily find cabs and autos. The market near the college is decent, a little expensive for college students, but it's okay.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I could not get into MBBS. The faculty-student ratio is very low. Faculty is skilled but unfortunately, the faculty is involved in everything. They sit in OPD and they are in various committees amongst college, therefore, they have to attend a lot of meetings and skip classes. But for teaching Junior Residents/ MD scholars, they are the backbone. Most of the teachers have a post-graduate degree and also now newly appointed faculty members must have at least an MD degree. The exams are mostly conducted on time. It is difficult to pass them. One needs to obtain at least 50% marks in each subject and in each theory and Viva. Just in case you fail in theory, you have to appear for the Viva of the same subject and vice versa.
Internships Opportunities
There is a mandatory 1-year internship from our college/hospital with a stipend of approx 22000rs/month. You get to do OPD and IPD duties along with rural posting in PHC Najabgarh. Many special OPDs run in the hospital, like Geriatrics, Paediatrics, Lifestyle disorders, Skin diseases, Vitiligo, Gynae, etc. You get to choose your project or which special Opd you want to join on the basis of your score of final year.
Placement Experience
There are no campus placements. Unfortunately, due to a lack of need in the private sector, nobody comes to the college to offer you a job. Nobody gets a job unless you study really hard again and crack the entrances and interviews for government job and also the clinic. Though you can do other things, I mean you do have a graduate degree you can work anywhere. But being a doctor you can do some insurance thing. I do not have much idea about that.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since the college comes under the Delhi Government. The fees are very less. It is approx 1500rs/year for 4 academic years. During the internship, you get a stipend of approx rs22000/month for a year. After graduation, you can persue Masters in various subjects of homoeopathy and in other subjects depending on your interest. You can always open your own clinic. Otherwise, the job scope is not much. Government job is the only scope. There is no job in the private sector unless some doctor hires you at his/her clinic or a chain of clinics.
Campus Life
Every year rest is organised for 5 days, including 2 days for fine arts activities and 3 days for cultural activities which includes cooking, calligraphy, debates, face painting, rangoli, dances, singing, fashion show and much more. Sports events are also organised where different sports are played and competition is between different years. Sports like volleyball, basketball, football, badminton, table tennis and games like carrom, chess and other athletic activities are organised. Mostly girls and boys team are separate. There are no official clubs as of the year 2020. A lot of books are available in the library but the library is open during college hours only. Obviously, you can borrow books. Classes have AC.
