My experience

My department is Bio-Tech and I would like to mention for those who are interested in taking this field, SRM is academically advanced when it comes to laboratories and faculties. Providing various workshops and seminars. The campus life is wonderful. A mixture of people from around the world that becomes family. The bad aspects are marking criteria and teachers are biased Admission process is very smooth. Clear the entrance and sit in the counselling. I preferred this college over others because of the world-class lab facilities and dedicated researchers in the college. SRM website is quite reliable when it comes to daily updates and the mailing system is smooth for the students. Online classes for exams was a strict and effective procedure.

Biotechnology has been my keen interest since my school days. The course is a mixture of applied science and technology which makes impossible things seem possible. To work in pharma and health sector is my dream which can be achieved with this course. A rough number of 200 faculties are present in this department to around 1000 students in 4 years. Most of the faculties have PhDs and are researching in the department as well as teaching. The exam is strict and malpractice if caught results in severe action by the department.

A high number of placement but not for Bio-Tech department. One can get placed if belong from other departments such as CSE, IT, mechanical. Various companies come for placement such as Amazon. ZS associate to bulk companies as well. Almost everyone sitting in placements gets placement. So that's not ab issue. I plan to go for higher studies because it's best to get a master's degree and then go for good jobs since Biotech companies require masters.

350000 per year for the course. There are various scholarships programs and merit-based scholarship are provided by the college. No on-campus jobs. Hotels are wonderful but the mess food is horrible. Cannot bear it at all. But one needs to put education over everything.

The life on the campus is wonderful. One can meet people from around the world and there's diversity in the college. Competitive students and various fests such as AARUUSH which is a national level techno-management fest giving students the opportunity to work and learn the management and technical aspects of life. Another fest is Milan which is cultural fest having various cultural events. The whole year we have tech events going on for all the departments and helps in developing one's interests and personal skills. Various tech teams ranging from all branches to various cultural clubs ranging from music to dance to arts.

Twin sharing rooms with AC or non AC depending on the student's preference. Hostel mess is average, don't expect good food. Although we have variously restaurants and subway in the college campus so can have food from there. Online booking for hostels, first come first service type. A lot of multies and flats are available to need SRM campuses such as Estancia and abode, so shifting to pgs is not a problem.
