Remarks
A well-renowned institute in Hyderabad and one of the very few degree colleges in the city that offers a BA in Mass Communication and journalism. Despite being late, admissions are accepted since the only things that need to be presented are all the necessary documents followed by the fee payment. It is not a very complicated process and you are enrolled in your preferred course at the earliest.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty is based around individuals who have previously worked or been closely associated in both the media and education sector. The teaching method employed in Mass Communication is very good since it attracts the attention of students and encourages participation through the use of visual slides, presentations, and videos. Similarly, students are given the freedom to write answers in their own words in theory examinations and allow them to present their opinions in a more realistic and rational manner
Internships Opportunities
The internship provided to mass comm students was off-campus. To know about our progress, the college sends a feedback evaluation form to a person within the company and this score is basically added to our end semester results.
Placement Experience
In Mass Communication, the sixth semester requires students to do a 45-day internship in a media company. On the other hand, B.Com students have the opportunity for campus placements and the college gets approached by the top MNCs and companies of India without plenty of presentations being given beforehand about the portfolio by company representatives. Many have previously been to avail jobs at top institutions like Amazon, Wipro, Microsoft, etc., and continue to do so in the coming years.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very high and is to be paid each semester. For nearly all courses barring BA JPE, the fee tends to cross the 2 lakh limit and apart from this the fees for semester examinations and certificate courses are collected separately. This adds an extra burden on students especially those who may not be from a financially strong background.
Campus Life
The college is very involved in extracurricular activities. Josephiesta is one of the main annual events conducted by St.Joseph since it draws participation from both inter and intra college students. Beyond this, many other competitions are conducted during the regular schedule. On the other hand, the library is stocked with all the necessary course books. Similarly, previous year question papers are also available and anything can be attained without much of hesitation.
