Remarks

The good aspect of college- It is a government college. It comes under MPUAT, Udaipur, Rajasthan which is known for its quality education. It provides B.Tech in a course other than core branches. Well qualified faculty. Good placement history Bad aspects- Most of the equipment is not working. There is a shortage of teachers that is why guest faculty is invited frequently. Average Starting package is not that high it ranges from 2 to 3 LPA, although the highest package offered is 7 LPA Admission Process: there are 2 types of sets. Payment seat. Government seat. For payment seat, a student can directly go to college and get his/ her seat on the basis of merit but these students have to pay almost double fees as compared to students on government seat. And for getting government seat one has to give exam called JET (Joint Entrance Test) and the selected student will be given admission on government seat. NOTE: You should have Phy, Chem and Maths for getting admission in this college

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose Food Technology course because it is something new as compared to core branches, and also it is something which is more in demand in today's world as demand for packaged food is increasing. Faculty to student ratio is 1:32. Most of the faculty has PhD in their respective fields while some have Masters degree although they all follow the old way of teaching but are choosing to take the class using projectors and presentation and some teacher do encourage student to give a presentation on different subjects which remove the stage fear from students and also encourages possitive discussion between students. There are two midterm exams followed by two semester exam in a year that is in one semester (2 semester in a year) there is one midterm exam followed by a one-semester exam. Although difficulty level of both the exam is same because in semester exam the level of question is high but in semester exam you have less time for preparation as exam of two subjects is taken on same day.

Internships Opportunities

5

Students got an internship in different companies like Perfetty Melle, Amul, Nestle, ITC, Tirupati Group of Companies, Havmor ice cream, Heinz, Aligarh, Zoopy Noodles and many more. Roles offered were Production Supervisor, Quality tester, Trainee chemist, Shift incharge, Packaging supervisor. Stipend offered was different for every industry, I got 11000rs per month while some got 5000rs, 7000rs and some got free accommodation and free food for two times, while some got nothing, So stipend offered was totally dependent on company's policy. I was offered Project on the reduction of processing and cleaning. Reduction of scrap. Increasing the profit by waste management. Manpower management. And at the end reports were studied by the plant manager and plant head and some of our solutions were implemented in company.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students become eligible for campus placement in last year last semester when they are sent for their 6-month industrial training. Manny company visit for in campus placements some of them are Nestle, Amul, ITC, Saras, Tirupati Group of Companies etc. Every year Nestle takes toppers and offers the highest package which ranges from 7 to 8 LPA and average package offered by company ranges from 3 to 4 LPA. This year maximum students were placed in Amul and Tirupati Group of Companies. In Amul 4 students got placed with an offer of 6 LPA and in Tirupati Group of Companies 5 students got placed with an offer of 3.5 LPA. 70 to 75% of students get placed through in campus placement but this year (2020) it was reduced to 50% due to covid-19. My plan after graduation is to try for government exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

For government seat, student course fee would not be more than 1.5 Lakhs, whereas for payment seat students it would range from 2.5 to 2.8 Lakhs. You have to pay fees two times a year (semester wise). As far as I know, college itself does not provide any scholarship but you can get a scholarship from government schemes. The college will provide you 6 months industrial internship when you are in 4th-year 2nd semester and stipend varies from industry to industry, I got 11,000rs per month on my internship but it's not the case with everyone some got 5000rs while some got nothing, it totally depends on company's policy.

Campus Life

4.5

College celebrates annual fest and tech fest every year with different names/ title every year and also encourages students to take part in tech fest organised by other colleges. The library is having sufficient books and journals but some books are limited which are issued only for one day to students also there is a provision for issuance of book bank to students which includes basic course books issued to students every semester. All classroom have a blackboard and some 2 to 3 special classrooms have been made for conducting classes through the smartboard. Every year University organises inter-college games competition which includes games like indoor and outdoor games basketball, Football, Cricket, Kabaddi, Chess, Hockey, Table tennis etc. Extracurricular activities: College also organises some competitions like 1. Quiz competition. 2. Essay writing competition. 3. Debate Competition. 4. Slogan writing competition. 5. Drawing competition. etc. There are no such club in college.

Birla Institute of Technology - [BIT], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)
Reviewed on Mar 2, 2025(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is vast and allows a student to explore all the possible options to take before deciding on one . The field of elctronics and communication engineering allows one to deal with electronics and learn all the possible tinkering with them which is a very fascinating part as all the gadgets possible today were made of them. The curriculum does satisfy this thirst by teaching about them in the class of electronics and electricals and then experimenting in the lab with them . The areas for improvement could be that if a student is interested in a specific field then should be allowed to venture that field throughly instead of sitting in every class , but that is an imrovement for the indian education system as as whole . The classes of every subject does occur frequently and and exams take place every month in a form of quiz or proper pen based exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I like computer science and I can see my future in this course. The current ratio in computer science courses is around 1:5. And we don't have technical communication teaching at present and the college is saying that they will recruit teachers as soon as possible. The student-teacher ratio in all the branches is around 1:3. All facilities are well qualified and teach well but they are not permanent and hence they may or may not be changed next year. There are two semesters in each year and an examination is conducted after each semester. The difficulty level of these exams ranges from moderate to difficult.
