Remarks

There is always pros & cons everywhere overall I would say its good nothing specifically i can say except from one thing that there is a sort business some students get into to get easy money by getting into admission business through management quota. I would say AVOID this you are here for study don't get into this.

Entrance Preview

SRM entrance exam - I really don't remember my score.. But its not tough though, Also I had AIEEE score which was then accepted by SRM for admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Though its 7 years now, tough to recall each and everything. I find course curriculum is fine and aligned with others college as well i mean you wont feel left out on any subject when you discuss about your course with other college students. So its OK and fine. Though i feel it could have been updated now.. because i passed out 7 years back. Rest assured that you are not reading anything outdated.

Internships Opportunities

I have no idea about it as in my tenure (2005-09) i had not come across with internship thing. May be any recent passout would give input on this.

Fee Structure And Facilities

No doubt its expensive for 2005-09 batch - mechanical engineering tuition fee was Rs.100,000. I heard is 2 or 3 lacs now. Hostel fees - Rs.45000 normal, for Ac hostels - Rs. 100,000 (Called International hostel) I assume the cost has been increased.

Fees and Financial Aid

Education loan facility is there as I have availed that. I am not sure about any scholarship facility. I know for Sports quota students there are some facilities for scholarship but cant provide much details on that.

Campus Life

4

In chennai this is one of the few college where you will get feel that whole india is there or say mini india gender ratio - i guess 60/40. I mean its good no issues extra curriculum activities- There are cultural fests, Rock shows, fashion shows event SRM has good sports team ( Basket ball/Cricket) there are many competitions students are encouraged to participate even some of my friends has started startup on robotics College has provided there support to them.

Hostel Facilities

4

It was good compared to many. I must say SRM infrastructure and amenities are really good rooms and hostels are clean and spacious (important to mention) wifi facilities food - south Indian & North Indian both + Hygienic apart from mess cafeterias are also available within campus.

Alumni/Alumna

Frankly I did not had much interaction with any alumni so cant give any input, but yes student from my batch are connected and yes its helpful.

Exam Structure

Internal - 3 cycle test , 1 model test - same as final semester exam { for each subject/per semester) sometimes there will be surprise test also. weightage - 30% External - Final semester weightage - 70% In short there will be test throughout the semesters.

Admission

I somehow missed the counselling, later i called college office in kattankulathur and they asked me to come and get things done as seats are available. I reached at college campus showed my counselling call letter/SRM entrance score card and asked for my preferred branch (Mechanical) luckily i got that they told me to go to there other office in nagar chennai and deposit fees and finish the document submission process. I got things done in 2-3 days with all things done.I took the required documents from college which was needed for my education loan.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are good, knowlegeable and supportive It's up to the student how to use them and gain knowledge... Either you look for getting only marks or gain concepts work on projects. I remember i had chosen FEA (3rd yr) as an elective for which a visiting faculty from IIT used to come with so much of knowledge and his way of teaching is really good.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
