Remarks

Great atmosphere,coeducational,heritage buildings with great infrastructure,campus placements,more importance to extra curriculum activities,cooperative administration,Truly worthy college in the respect of fees. Education quality is above moderate here,Campus is very nice and big. We have given full opportunities to explore the college fests and societies. Various activities and competitions are held every year here.Good college.

Course Curriculum Overview

We have very good staff.There are so many labs here to carry out practical experiments.Here if you have interest in some research work then you will get full support from the teachers and university.The Syllabus gets revised time by time and it is prepared as per the guidelines. The course that I am studying makes me job ready.

Strong alumni of the college helps the young students into recruitment. Big companies like MSC,NYK,SCI,FLEET MANAGEMENT,ANGLO EASTERN MANAGEMENT,SCORPIO TANKERS, CHELLSHIPS,GREAT EASTERN SHIPPING, etc recruit the high minds of the campus

College Events

It is a fully residential program with probably the best experience of paramilitary system. The seniors are supportive. Sports activities are regularly held and the biggest of them all THE TEMPEST- BIGGEST MARIME FEST IN INDIA.

Campus Life

Our college is a very old college.It is a heritage building It has a very big campus and all the infrastructure is very good. Living places are away from our college campus and are very clean ad hygienic. Food is very tasty in our hostels.We have a big common room in our hostels to watch tv and play games.

Brief About NITJ

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in their final year (7th semester). only a few companies made no offers. I can recall only 1 name Nation with NAMO. highest package in Civil branch was 14LPA. Average is 6LPA. for all branches highest was 42LPA with average 12 LPA. placement % is 60-80 among all branches which is improving every year. I am planning for higher education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course that is bsc in artificial intelligence and data science is quite demanding and I think this is the only field which is growing faster. Another reason for choosing this was I had huge interest in this field. But faculty,their teaching way and syllabus is too way less as compared to course. They focus more on their rather than the practical work but in this field practical work is more important than theory as theory plays no role in this field . They must reduce the number of mid sem exams conducted and focus more on making students better in practical work. After the starting of semester, just after 25 days when syllabus not even completed as the 1st unit.. they shout spreading the news of exams. We just got too busy in exams which make us feel distracted from our real work .

True experience of a SLIET Student

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was interested in Robotics and my parents wanted me to take a core branch. The curriculum is not very relevant but some topics are good and related like modern welding technologies and manufacturing techniques. I think our college curriculum needs to be updated where more new world technologies like AR and VRs should be taught with advance robotics. Teaching methods used are classical I think professors should try to use smart classrooms to visualise the concept to make it better understandable. Exams are moderate level but I think our college needs to reduce exam frequency although we have time but due to exams nearly every month it doesn't feel good.
