Affordable and good college

Likes

The faculty of the college is so understanding whether it is teaching or non teaching one. Principal of college is also always encourage the students to ace in their courses

Dislikes

Washroom can be maintained in more good manner and canteen must have facilities for sitting

Placement Experience:

For the placements many companies like hdfc bank, axis bank, union bank have visited the college and many renowned companies like wipro have introduced their internship programsand many other local companies have recruited the students of college

The Dav College of Jalandhar

Likes

Kind of old faishoned since looks good from far
The teachers are kind of lenient, good for late submissions

Dislikes

There's no air conditioning in the college so its pretty hot in summer.
There's a fee of 10 rs daily for parking you vehicle

Course Curriculum Overview:

Kind of interested in accounting and finance and tax structure and my friends were choosing it too, and there's punjabi included too which is our language here, so it's a kind of percentage booster, the exams were taken in two shifts morning 9-12pm and evening 1-4pm

Likes

Faculty is quite helpful teachers are very hardworking and try to help us at every step

Dislikes

The canteen server food on the average basis but rates are high
There is no proper management for air ventilation in most of the classes

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams have 5 questions of 20marks each but according it gets a bit difficult to complete it but nevertheless it gets easy by time. If have any doubts teachers clearly solve them and help you to understand they would even guide you that which course you should go for

Likes

Teachers here are good as well as cooperative
Our college keep organising different seminars and competition
It has ncc - air , navy and army ,nss and red ribbon group

Dislikes

Infrastructure is needed to maintain in college
Alot of strictness sometimes out of necessity
College auditorium is opposite of official campus

Final year student get eligible for placement, companies like wipro , kotak bank ,sbi , mahindra etc have offered placement for students of dav ,the highest placement this year was 7.5 lpa by to two students of bcom and average is 15000-25000 per month . According to em its 50% of students who get placement. My future plans are to go for mba which is not Available in dav or to give some interview and job based test

The teachers have a great experience of teaching from them we came about lot of things.
Library as it is the largest library in the india . There is all types of books available

Dislikes

Infrastructure is old fashioned as compared to other colleges

At the time of admission the college staff have taken a counselling of each student and they tell us about the pros and cons of chossing bcom. From this I decided to choose . In bcom all the teachers are very helpful.

Likes

College has very good staff and qualified experienced teachers.
Campus has good quality, cleanliness, and green environment
Campus can be easily reached by public transport as well as by self.

Dislikes

Some rules that we cant order food through food apps
Boys entrance gate and girls entrance gate both are different though its co ed college
No dress code . Atleast students should come in proper sensible dress

Placement Experience:

College has its own placement cell and offfer placements to students and they all get average 60kpa. If placement does not occur , we can join industries and other sector as a employement . Hence teachers have links they can also help in placement

My experience with DAV College, Jalandhar

Likes

The overall quality of the course curriculum and the quality of teaching as well as the learning facilities is about an 7/10. It is quite satisfactory.
The various amenities such as drinking water, washrooms and cleanliness is very good.

Dislikes

The computer lab does not have quite the quality of computer systems and most of the peripherals like keyboards and mice are damaged
There is no proper facility of air conditioning and even many of the fans are quite slow in contrast to the needs. Ventilation is good
The library doesn't have a good surveillance as many of the books are either stolen or found damaged a lot of times.

Placement Experience:

There is facility of campus placement in our college and the general eligibility is after completing UG. There are many placement drives in our college by various companies and the average package offered is between 3 to 5 lakhs per annum. The most recent one i got to know about is SMG Electric Scooters Ltd. My plan is not of pursuing a placement from this college. Rather I'll begin my CAT preparation from next year and I will definitely secure a seat in IIM and pursue a placement via MBA from IIM itself.

Campus is good as compare to other colleges in jalandhar
Environment and safety is proper for all genders
Fee structure is budget friendly so every class can afford it

Dislikes

Very less events or functions are celebrated
Fines are too high for any small things or mistakes
Auditorium is very old style amd classes are very old

Placement Experience:

Not many students get placement as vollege provide placements from first year butt only of 20-30k not big placement or companies they give placement in banks or pther small kind of jo s which are available without placement too easily

The students behave very badly with freshers
Some teachers have so much ego they don't even want to help the students

Poorest College in Punjab

The computer lab teachers are very good and the computer lab facilities are good ac's are present the computer labs and teachers are better
Canteen facilities are good although the price of food is high but the taste and quality of food is okissh
Most of the students are helpful and are very polite

Dislikes

Teachers are not good they don't care for students they just teach for money
Classrooms are very old and they don't have ac's the quality of desks is literally poor than that of a school classroom
They take fine for every single thing they search opportunities for earning money from students

The reputation of this college was good so I thought the teachers and studies will also be good in college They just give knowledge already available from the books nothing else The teachers should clear basic concepts of the students first before going to intermediate level 2 exams per semester they are mid level difficult
