Remarks
As I said earlier, the college is average but the university is really good. It manages the college very well.
Entrance Preview
IIT JEE, BITSAT, UPTU, VITEEE, MUEEE, SRMJEE. I had quite good score in SRM and very average score in others. I chose this campus/college since it was near to my home i.e. Lucknow. The admission process was easy and simple. It was well managed. I got the branch that I needed which was Electronics and communication.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is something that I feel is the USP of this university. It is made very accordingly. We have electives in 2nd year for a language (French or German). Then from 3rd year, we have to elect one from 3 core subjects in 5th and 6th semester both.
Internships Opportunities
No, the college does not provide internships. They want us to do internships on our own and have certicficates for the placement. If they would've provided internships, it would have been better.
Placement Experience
The placements are very good and almost every student is placed until he/she is not able to present himself/herself infront of the H.R. They have placement cells which provide us with informations regarding placements and all the knowledge we require for presenting ourselves very well and get a job. We have mock interviews and faculties sitting as placement recruiters. This helps us to get a idea of how the original placement interview would be like. They also give us advice on what we have done wrong in giving the mock interview. Most of the students get admission here only for placements.
College Events
The events are very well sponsered and are on a very big scale as compared to other private colleges in that location. For example, Rubaroo is the music festival of 3 days, in which a famous music star comes to perform and other DJ's on other two days. It is huge and very enjoyable. Aarush is a sports fest i which almost every game is played against with different college players and teams. Certificates, trophies, prize money are provided to the students who perform well.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very expensive. For a student of my batch has to pay 1,50,000 per year as a tution fee but for the current batch it has been increased to 2,10,000 per year. Along with it, one has to pay 15,000 for career development and 15,000 for book fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't think there are scholarships provided but the loans are provided very easily which is good as not everyone can afford such high college fees.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is quite good. There are almost as many girls as the boys in almost all the branches except mechanical department as very few girls choose mechanical. There are few workshops and societies and one can join them since the first year. The student arrive from almost all the states from North and South of India. My friends are from Chattisgarh, Bihar, M.P, Maharashtra, Assam etc. There is no gender, political or religious inequalities and all of the students are treated equally.
Hostel Facilities
There are many hostels available for accomodation and a new building is created for more accomodation. The problem is that the hostel facilities, rooms and mess food certainly not meet the quality standards. I stayed in the hostel for the first year of college and I was fed up of the food that was provided. I had to eat outside in the canteen daily. The PG's outside are a better option for staying as they are cheap than the hostels. It's around 75000/- per year.
Alumni/Alumna
Until now, there hasn't been any interaction with the alumni as the college does not provide arrangements to meet up with them.
Exam Structure
The exams and labs are quite hectic, I would say. The reason is that the exams are every end of the month and sometimes, without a day break between two consecutive exams. The labs every week makes us complete our lab file completed on time or marks would be deducted.
Admission
I filled the form online around december and the exam was held around april when my 12th boards exams got over. The administration was nice, they helped in getting me the correct branch for me, helped in admission process. Even the professors were there to help and were suggesting on our interests which branch to choose. We have to submit a D.D. of Rs 1,00,000 at the time of admission along with our original documents. The remaining fees has to be paid online through their tech process. They provide us with our ERP login through which we can see every detail regarding academics, attendance.
Faculty
The faculties are very interested in teaching the course and are qualifies on paper but the knowledge they have may be enough for the theoretical knowledge but certainly not enough for practical knowledge. Just mug up what they teach, pass the exams and forget what they taught.
