College Review

Overall our college is good. It lacks infrastructure though. But it as issue that cannot be controlled by college management. Teachers are helpful and provide great assistance. Though a couple of them can be kicked out for good.

Earlier the course was annual based but is semester driven now. We have our mid semester exams and end semester exams. Yes it is research driven. Our course demands projects to be done the way they are profeesionally. It gives us an insight of how profeesionals work. Also many faculty members are working profeesionals.

There is no placement cell in our college. Students have to look for internships through their own research and contacts. Internship is a required criteria to full fill academic credits hence all students find themselves a place to work. There have been no special preparation for placements.

Only last year a new initiative of a activity week was introduced. This is conducted for 3 days in each semester where various workshops and activities are organised by the students for other students. They are limited to college students only. Students from outside are not allowed to take part.

Fee structure is decent. Only issue faced over many years is to pay for tuition fee during our internship period. Apart from that there is a transparency in the breakdown and no extra charges are caused. Students have to bear the expenses in case of a college trip or an extra event being organised in the college.

I have not opted for any scholarship. Neither I have ever seen anyone getting one. There have been no initiative from the college to provide one. If some students have personally requested for one, I am not aware of it.

Our campus is a small one. We have a badminton court and a restaurant inside our capmus. The building shares a part of it with a Carana bank branch. Labs are not a requirement of the course. Gender ration can be 5:3 girls:boys. There are no as such extra curricular activities organised by the college. Students do find them selves some through other sources.

There are no hostel facilities in our college. Though there is a provision at the university campus but only students who are enrolled in university college are allowed to stay. Outstation students suit themselves with a PG. Avg cost can vary from 10000-30000 per month.

Recently an alumni committee was set up. Senior junior interaction has always been a strength of the college. Seniors are helpful with academics and provides notes. Juniors are keen to learn and help out seniors complete their assignments and projects.

Admission was based on merit list prepared after culminating boards and entrance marks. I opted for the course out of interest. One of the major reason for choosing this college was its close proximity from my home. Also I heard good reviews about the college from known students.

We have both permanent and visiting faculty. There is a wide range of faculty members and with a very wide spectrum of knowledge. All of them with their own distinct expertise to help us guide through various challenges faced as a profeesional. We cant really have industry experience.
