Remarks

Overall NIT RAIPUR is a good college, dont expect much from the faculties just work hard on your abilites and what you are strong at you will surely get success in your life.

Entrance Preview

The exams i gave were JEE MAINS AND JEE ADVANCED I am born and brought up in the steel city of Chhattisgarh and steel means metallurgy. So I opted for metallurgy as i see a good scope for employment. I am placed in Vedanta Resources Plc with a package of 7.95 lpa which is more than an average IIT package.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Course curriculum is very good all the aspects which are required for the field can be found in the curriculum, just one problem is that Maths -3 is not there which constitutes Probability and Statistics part ,which comes in the gate examination for metallurgy students.

Placement Experience

4

The placement opportunity is very good as the students get the NIT Tag the training and placement department employs th3 final year and prefinal year students in the team and they all work very hard to call the companies. In IT,CSE ,ET&T branch 100% students get placed ,also a lot of core companies come for MINING,METALLURGY,MECHANICAL,CIVIL AND ELECTRICAL BRANCH overall more than 60% of the students get jobs in the final year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its very much feasible. This is a central govt college so the fee structure is good ,not at all expensive for the pocket. I pay only 40k per year,my juniors pay 70k per year and super juniors may kore than that. So every student can get their admission provided.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan is given by the government or the unprivileged students and also the obc students with annual income less than 1 lakhs get full concession by the cg govt ans SC /ST students also have to pay nothing to study int he college.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is good 40 percent girls are there labs are well equipped, expensive machines are installed a lot of committees organize various events through out he year so you can take part in that events to nurture your talent there is no ragging the rules are very strict for this purpose if anybody is found ragging the juniors they are immediately suspended.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facility is very good .The rooms have to be shared by 3 students there are around 7 bus hostel and 1 girls hostel. The infrastructure of hostels are good and mess food is ok but hostels are provided on the pointer basis so if you want to stay in the hostels, you have to perform academically well.

Alumni/Alumna

ALUMNI network is good yes they are really helpful the senior junior relationship is friendly. My experience with seniors is very good actually, they have always helped me in the difficult times they guided us to the correct path at every moment i required help.

Exam Structure

It is very chilled out actually we have only Ct-1 ,Ct-2 and the end semester or they are called first exam, second exam and the final exams. The 1st and 2nd exams are only of 15 mark/subject the final end semester question papers are of 70 marks, 20 mars are awarded as teachers assessment.

Admission

I filled the form for mains and advanced gave the mains exam, qualified for advanced i got a good all india rank in JEE mains i participated in counselling and got my branch and college i got benefited from the home state quota.Home state students enjoy the privilege of getting the quota and 50 percent of the seats are reserved for them the total seats in NITRR is around 900.

Faculty

2.5

The regular faculties are good, they have good knowledge about the subjects they teach, they also do their research work and engage students with them , The metallurgy branch also has tie ups with industries ,students get to solve the real problems faced by the industry. The temporary faculties are not that good ,they have no experience at all in the subjects and they are not able to clear the subject in students mind.

Form 7th semester campus placement are started . Lot of great company comes . Average of mechanical is 12 lakh but overall average is 50 lakh approx. In mechanical department 100% placement ratio is happened this year but the trick is only students who get 8+ cgpa can sit for placement so the ratio is high . My plan is to do job in isro or go for mtech in iit

For placements there is very less on campus placement as most of the companies visiting are not from the tech domain. Few company like alstom and other core company come to campus and give a good amount of package. For IT sector MOSTLY NEW COMPANIES OR MASS Recruiter's LIKE TCS HCL WIPRO COME FOR PLACEMENT

You can sit into placement after completing your 6th semester. Yes, many companies do visit and give good offers. Such as Samsung Google, Microsoft, adobe etc. The average package is about 15 lakhs and the highest package sometimes goes in crore per annum. Many times there is 100% placement.
